Liked: The owner Mathew was incredibly hospitable and helpful, going out of his way to ensure we knew where to go and what to do. Really appreciated it as it was a fleeting visit to Alleppy.

Liked: Brown house is a nice home stay with a very friendly & informative host Matthew. If you are traveling to Alleppey for the houseboat experience, Matthew can organise a nice boat at a reasonable price. The house is well situated (walking 5 mins to town, 30R tuk tuk to beach) and about the cleanest house I have seen in Inida!

Disliked: No convenient internet was a bit of a pain (10 minute walk to internet cafe), not the most sociable of places as there are only 2-3 rooms available.

Liked: The staff were friendly and I met some other nice travelers. I liked that there was a living area with tv and a kitchen.

Disliked: A little dirty in the kitchen.

Liked: Great new clean big house, owner does not live there, but is VERY helpful. Close to town and internet/restaurants. Would definitely stay here again. Owner arranged houseboat tour for us - said 5000rp for non air conditioning boat and 6500 for AC boat. We took the AC boat and it was HUGE and really nice. Good place and good value for the rooms. Highly recommended.

Liked: Staff very helpful and friendly - rooms large and airy. Lack of A/C might be a drawback in hot weather, but for the mony this is a fine choice.
