Liked: The guesthouse is within walking distance of almost everything in Reykjavik. Great clean, well-appointed rooms. Very clean toilets and showers. Very good breakfast. Great place run by very nice people. The owners are really nice and helpful. Felt like home away from home !

Liked: It is located a couple blocks from the Hlemmur bus station, so that was convenient. The street it's on, however, is covered in graffiti and the surrounding area was in a bit of disrepair. The guesthouse itself was in good shape though, and it felt safe. The common area on the sun-porch was nice. Facilities and linens were clean. Helpful staff. Generously sized rooms. I would stay here again, it was a good value for 4 people in the family room.

Liked: Rating this guesthouse is difficult given the YES/NO options--I rarely say I wouldn't return to somewhere if the operators seem to be trying, and in this case I'd like to check "Maybe". However, these folks, try as they do, lack consistency and reliability. There are too many things in need of minor/quick repair, like a toilet with a broken flusher. The 3rd floor rooms are tiny; mine had very worn furniture and the window curtain had fallen down and was atop a cabinet--why wasn't this noticed and fixed? I think part of their problem is that often no owner or employee is on site. Breakfast is supposedly included , and is on some days; on others they didn't stock enough food and/or many visitors had classes or tours departures that wouldn't allow them to wait around for someone to show up, unlock the kitchen (where some of us had our own food--there is no "guest fridge") and get breakfast. The night before I was to check out, (at 7:30 a.m the next day.) I asked an owner if someone would be there by 7:30 to at least let me into the kitchen to retrieve my own (purchased) food. Someone is here at 7, he said, so I left my food in the fridge. But at 7:30 no one had shown up and I had to leave for the airport without my meals.

Liked: Very nice guesthouse, 5 minute walk to the main street.Only one problem: had to wait 30 minutes at the door for the staff to arrive and be able to check into the room. Let the staff know beforehand when you are arriving.

Liked: Very friendly and helpful manager. Relaxed atmosphere. Communal dining room/kitchen where you can socialise. Right by Hlemmur bus station and within 20min walk of BSI long distance bus station. Breakfast provided, packed up so you can eat it on the run. Excellent showers and bathroom facilities. Room had small sink and mirror in it - saving bathroom hassles with everyone needing the main bathroom at once.

Liked: I would recommend this guesthouse for people looking for a cheap and not fancy, but OK place to stay. I got a room in the attic/top floor, it was small, but quiet.
