The rooms were very clean and the breakfast had a good selection of cereals, bread, cheese, and cold meets. More like a guesthouse than a hostel in regards to atmosphere.

Nice room, close to the center, pleasant staff, excellent breakfast included into the price, heating.

It's probably the cheapest accommodation you can find in Reykjavik, although it's far from being anything nice. The dorm room was being changed when I was there. If you're willing to tough it out, it's fine.

friendliness of staff

Sleeping in dormitory is a truly cost-efficient chance for a lone traveller. Bed costs little over 50e / night while single person rooms in other hostels tend to be 100+e at least. I stayed in 20 bed dorm for two nights and had no trouble getting/keeping sleep; this was no "party hostel" even though my first night was Culture Night in Reykjavik. Beds were separated in a groups of few with transferable walls. Staff was really nice and breakfast ok. Only complain would be shower rooms, which were not very spacious; that didn't bother me much although someone could find that uncomfortable.
