Liked: It is close to BSI and city centre. Good prize for the value.

Disliked: The owner's behaviour - rude, unhelpful, yelling on guests. On the other hand, other staff memebers were nice and polite.

Liked: Location.

Disliked: First of all, it is not clean. Some rooms are in a basement, and have same price like upstairs rooms. Those rooms stink of moisture. Bathroom in the room is in catastrophic condition.

Liked: The only positive thing is one of the boys working at the reception.

Disliked: The bathrooms are very small, and not so clean. The rooms in the basement are without and air and posibility to open windows so the mold is getting there. The price for the room in the basement and on the first floor is the same which is very unfair. The owner is extremly unkind.

Liked: Near the Bus terminal

Disliked: 1) There is no staff there. One person comes in the morning to make breakfast and then leaves. 2) This was probably the worst bed we slept in over a month of travel. It squeeked, and had a mattress which left us with pain in the back.

Liked: The location is great, only a 10 minute walk to the city center, right beside the BSI bus station from which most day tours departs. The rooms were big and comfotable.

Disliked: The owner is a very unpleasant person. He never smiled to anybody and made bad jokes. WE are also pretty sure he lied to us when he said that we would have to wait for our room (early check in) and 4 hours later, we had our room (which was already clean), A couple of hours later, the cleaning lady came in (so she didn't clean the room before). VEry bad place to meet people

Liked: This property was a cheap place to stay in Reykjavik, and it was located very close to the "Reykjavik Excursions" bus station (however this ensures you are last to be dropped off after tours). The breakfast was good, but nothing special. The main problem was that the owner was never there - arriving at the hostel we were greeted with a sign asking us to call him, but there was no phone to do so meaning that one would either have to use an international mobile ($$) or find a pay phone. The hostel is located about 15-20 minutes walk from the centre of Reykjavik, with no restaurants nearby, and the lack of staff around to help advise meant we felt rather isolated, and reliant on the good advice from people at the bus station! The beds were very creaky, and one fell apart! The showers had nice hot water, though the en-suite ones were too small. So if you just want a cheap bed in a quiet location, and are mainly doing excursions out of town this may serve. It is a shame, as I think that if the owner was present more (even for a set couple of hours every morning and evening, and for check in) and such small things like use of the kitchen, non-musical beds, and a clean bathtub were improved, my rating would increase.

Liked: The staff is seldom there and checking in turns out to be problematic. The shared bathroom is broken and they don't care to fix it. The location is good, if you need to reach Keflavik airport the very next day, because it is very close to the Bus Terminal but other than that I would not reccomend this hostel.

Liked: loved the room (we had a private triple with kitchen, bathroom, the works), it was huge and clean!! it's a 10 min walk to downtown, and literally right across the street from the bus depot to keflavik airport, so it's super convenient. would TOTALLY stay here again. we had a mix up with reservations the first night, but they put us up in a different property, so it was all good. stay here if you can
