Guesthouse Galtafell is located in the Reykjavik city centre in a quiet residential area. We are just a stonethrow away from the Reykjavik pond, the Laugavegur shopping street with all of it's retaurants, shops, galleries, cafes and pubs.
Galtafell is a family run guesthouse that welcomes children, we want to make sure our guests have all the comfort of a home while they stay with us.

Guesthouse Galtafell is a historical house, built in 1916 and once the home of the beloved Icelandic artist Gudmundur Thorsteinsson-Muggur.
The house has many characteristics wich underline that it was meant to be used as an art studio, such as large windiws and bright rooms.

The guesthouse is in a short walking distance from all the city centre activites such as art museums, shops and restaurants, whale waching daytous, cafes and pubs.

Our accommodation options offer one bedroom apartments and twin rooms.
All our apartments consist of a bedroom, a private bathroom, a fully equipped kitchenette, a living room area with a sofabed that sleeps 2 persons, a ding area, free wireless Internet connection, TV, DVD, hairdryer, iron, bedlinen and towels, a private fron door entrance for each apartment, free parking, breakfast is included in rate.
Babycribs and highchairs are available as well as extra beds.

Our twin rooms have shared bathroom facilites, access to a fully equipped kitchen, TV, work desk, bedlinen and towels are provided, breakfast is included in room rate, free wireless Internet connection in all rooms, free parking.

Guesthouse Galtafell located in the Reykjavik city centre in a quiet residential area. We are just a stonethrow away from the Reykjavik pond and gardens wich has a lovely playground for children, the Laugavegur shopping street with all of it's restaurants, shops, galleries, cafes and pubs.
Also in a short walking distance is the old harbour with it's seefood restaurants and whale waching daytours, the parlament building, the National Museum of iceland, The Reykjavik Art Museum, the Harpa music hall and confrence centre, the BSI- Reykjavik Bus station, the domestic airport.
