Liked: Bags of character. Beautiful place and beautiful setting. Very well run and a genuinely lovely place to be.

Disliked: Hot water in our room didn't run very well, which for Iceland is very strange and unusual. Owner said they would look into the problem so hopefully it will be fixed

Liked: The Food was amazing and home cooked by grandma. The lounge was as cool and relaxed as one could get, and the scenery is outstanding, but there was not much to do in the Winter months.It offered no kind of entertainment if you happened to be stuck in doors and the basic rooms were small and pokey (albeit cosey and well maintained). There were No games, TV or other activities to do, but they did have free wireless internet that is only accessable in certain areas of the hotel.

Liked: A quite location just outside of Reykjavik, ideal if you have a car, if not then tour operators will do pick ups and drop offs, so not really a problem. Most rooms have a view over the lake, and are nicely decorated with a Mexican theme. Good home cooked food at a reasonable price.Ideal if you want to enjoy the countryside location, with access to the city and day tours.
