"Kríunes Hotel" is situated in an unspoilt natural environment by a beautiful lake. Only 15 km from Reykjavík center.
ACCOMMADATION
Kriunes is exceptionally comfortable and peaceful place providing good quality for its guests.
The facility is fairly new, the rooms spacious, well fitted and each room with bathroom. There are also bigger rooms (suites) with shower and bathtub.
The general area is spacious. Sitting room is large with fireplace and a beautiful view over lake Elliðavatn, mountains Akrafjall, Esja and Bláfjöll among other things. The bar and other facilities are very comfortable. From the terrace is a beautiful view over the lake and the mountains.
Good meals
The dining area, where breakfast is served as well with other meals, is friendly (cosy). Kríunes offers all meals, the wild and tasty trout from the Ellidavatn is a very popular choice.
Bridalsuit/or a nice treat for an occasion
Suites (bridal suites) are a favorable choice for those who desire a nice treat.

ACTIVITIES
At Kriunes all sorts of trips can be organized for groups and firms. Boats, horses, cycling, jogging etc.
Boats
Boats for rowing, foot petal boats and canoes are provided. Good choice for families and individuals to make the most of the adventure on the lake.
Fishing
Fishing permits are sold at Kríunes. Mainly two types of wild trouts are in the lake Ellidavatn. Fishing rods can be least. Boats are also a fine option to use for fishing.
Horses
In the area is the biggest combination of horse farms in the whole world. Around 15.000 horses are kept within a space of 25 kilometers making the atmosphere very special. Many beautiful horse-riding roads are within the area in a very beautiful natural surrounding. Few horse rentals are available in the area.
Organised horse-riding can take from 1 to 6 hours.
Walking - running - cycling
There are all types of marked routs for jogging, horses, cycling etc. In the general vicinity as well as in the folk park Heidmork which is at the east side of Ellidavatn. It is also possible to walk, run or cycle to the center of Reykjavik.
Swimming pools
Many swimming pools are in Reykjavik Arbaearlaug and Breidholtslaug closest to Kriunes, about 5 kilometers away.
Museums
All types of museums are in Reykjavik, Arbaearsafn closest to Kriunes, where a part of the Icelandic saga is pisplayed. Shops are close by where all necessities can be obtained. The biggest mall in the country, Smaralind is only a few minutes drive away.
Guides
Most times a guide can be available for fishing, hiking and sightseeing.

Kriunes offers shuttle service for guests to Reykjavik center, to and from swimming pools, museums, restaurants etc for a reasonable price. We can pick our guests up
At the bus-terminal or other arrival places in Reykjavik free of charge. We also offer sightseeing trips with around Reykjavik and trips to the country such as Gullfoss, Geysir, Thingvellir etc. At a reasonable price. Also shuttle to and from Leif Eiriksson International Airport.
We can provide adventure trips and mountain trips for guests, such as trips into the glaciers, snow- and dog sledges, trips to caves, rafting, whale-watching and bird watching.
