Liked: Our bookings were mixed up initially. We arrived on the 17th late afternoon and was rushing off for the evening northern lights tour, so when we reached the apartment, reception was empty and there was no key left for us, we were disappointed. Luckily there was a huge apartment meant for 8 people which was empty and the manager agreed to let us have the apartment, so yes, it was a really pleasant stay =) and we really enjoyed the comfy & cosy home away from home!

Disliked: nothing. It's a complete and comfortable home.

Liked: It felt like our very own apartment. It was quite pleasant after settling a misunderstanding.

Disliked: Since the reservations were made the night before, we can understand the confusion. With that said, we arrived at Einholt after midnight to learn that our accommodations were moved to Grettisgata even after our reservation was confirmed. After speaking to the representative, he explained that because there was no room for our second party they would be moved to Grettisgata as well. On our second night, we looked for our party's key to leave some midnight snacks only to not find their key. Again, after calling and waiting for an hour we learned again there was no room for them despite our previous conversation with the staff. They would, however, be accommodated a street over from us. When we asked if they can be switched with a future guest we were told yes. So, we took their key and headed upstairs. Lo and behold, we were greeted by the future guest whom we had switched the keys with. Accordingly, the staff was unaware she had even checked in. You might imagine this to be very embarrassing for everyone involved.

Liked: Don't be put off by the slightly shabby facade. Our Einholt apartment was modern, light, airy and well equipped. The beds were comfortable and plenty of good quality sheets were provided along with fluffy duvets. Also there are plenty of clean towels which are changed every two days. The apartment is a short walk from the main shopping street Laugervegur and we did not take a single bus or taxi whilst we stayed here. There is also an inexpensive and delicious pizza take away called De Vitos 50 metres away. If you are looking to meet people while you travel this may not be the best place for you but if you are travelling with a group of friends it is ideal. Also keep in mind that it is much cheaper in May then in the high season. I would also recommend the cool " Laundromat" Cafe for brunch and the "American Style" diner near the harbour. The latter does great inexpensive burgers. As good as NYC. Paul Bower, Camden Town.

Liked: The property was well represented on the website. Having a kitchenette and re-stocked refrigerator every other day was wonderful: milk, apple and orange juice, ham, cheese, and bread. For the price, this was extremely good place to stay. The location was not in the middle of the town but very close and the walk was good for us. The front desk always recommended good restaurants and assisted with directions. For the price, this is a good recommendation.
