Guesthouse Von is a small,comfortable and friendly lodging house,located in the center of downtown Reykjavik on the main shopping street.

Von is a new lodging house with 7 double room and small apartment there are 3 small double rooms with cosy atmoshpere on the second floor, where the Noble award winning writer Halldor Kiljan Laxness wrote when he was young.Old and good soul in this part of the house.

On the first floor are 7 double room ,fully equipped kitchen, dining room and small TV-room, two bathrooms and a good balcony. There one can sit, day or night, and watch the daily life on Laugavegur. These facilities are for all guests of Gesthus Von.

Supermarket is next door and a five minute walk to an inside swimming pool with hot tubs outside,steam bath and sun benches.
In the nearest surroundings is Hallgrímskirkja highest building in Iceland and also museums, and art galleries.

Its not suprising that Icelanders name most main streets in the citys they visit Laugavegur. There is a Laugavegur in Italy, Mallorca and the Canary Islands. And in Reykjavik, Laugavegur is the center. From here its a short distance to shopping, supermarkets, pubs and fitness centers, not to mention an indoor swimming pool only a five minute walk away.

On the one end of Laugavegur we have Hlemmur and on the other end Lækjartorg witch both have bus stations were you can catch a bus to anyware in the city. From Lækjartorg its a short walk to the pond and the harbor. A brisk walk or bus ride from Hlemmur is Laugardalur park with the biggest swimming pool in Reykjavík and also biggest fitness centers in Europe. Also in Laugardalur there is for all the family the local zoo.
