Liked: This was an exceptional property in my opinion. Although some say that it is removed from the city center, that can be a good thing because you have a true place to come home to in the evening. I really liked staying here and I did not find it far from the city at all. The staff members are outstandingly friendly and the entire property is kept very clean.

Disliked: I do not think there is anything I disliked about this property.

Liked: Close to tram, which means it can be noisy but that wasn't a problem for me because I am a heavy sleeper. It's small so it would in theory be good to meet other travelers but when inwas there it was very dead. The coffee was really good.

Disliked: nothing above or beyond, very average. And staff were generally distracted and not present

Liked: We came to Budapest by car so we chose this hostel with free parking. We didn't mind to travel to city center by tramway as it's not far and tramway run every minute... We appreciate helpfulness of hostel staff and cleanliness.

Disliked: If I wouldn't travel by car, i would miss some lockers to hide my stuff. Probably you have to ask for welcome drink - we didn´t get any. Our fault - no ask, no drink.

Liked: Not really anything. We booked for four night but left after two.

Disliked: The location was horrible, a metro ran right outside the window, there was no AC, no lockers available (in the room or otherwise). Atmosphere was bad, it was full of old haggard looking people, not the fun younger crowed which make hostel fun.

Disliked: for me it was not a problem, but for those who like quiet, the tram line right next to the hostel might be a problem, pretty noisy when windows opened

Liked: As I was traveling by car I needed a hostel outside of the inner city, to have parking, and if possible free of charge. Grand Hostel offers it. There is plenty of space to park on their own parking. Hostel Bookers states that there are no 2-bed private rooms so I booked a 3-bed one. On site the staff was amazed that hostelbookers doesn't offer 2-bed privates and I got one, the price difference wasn't much (3bed vs 2bed) - I could have stayed in the 3-bed room for couple of eurobucks more.

Disliked: Kind of noisy because of the nearby tram rails. With closed windows it's better.

Liked: Fairly clean.

Disliked: Very far from the city center. No atmosphere. No live music, no food, no breakfast. Small beds, top floor has slanted ceilings - couldn't stand up in half the room. No furniture in rooms.

Liked: Great place! Very interesting building, nice beds, clean, plenty of bathrooms. Free drink was very nice, and the internet, too!

Liked: the tram and metro connections with city centre are not complicated and well organized

Disliked: on the 3rd floor there is not enough space for high people, all rooms are low-ceilinged because of the house roof

Liked: it is my deal house--------small wooden room ,just like the places in fairytale,it is arrounded by many trees and grasslands,you can breath fresh air and take a walk in the morning,and so easy reach the downtown only twenty minutes ,you can enjoy the spring's green and fresh also when you take tram or bus,

Disliked: if you want to drink hot water ,i think here is not fit you

Liked: The staff were so friendly and always willing to help, either with their knowledge of the area or jumping online to find out information. Free towel hire was helpful. Drink on arrival was appreciated. Providing soap in the bathroom was a small commodity but made a big impact!

Disliked: Providing breakfast was great but for the price more/a range of other food would have been good.

Liked: I love the staff. They were incredibly helpful and always willing to share some advice. Without them I don't think I would have done as much as I did in Budapest.

Disliked: It was far from the city center. It took about a 20 minute tram and metro ride to get into the beginning of the city center.

Liked: The greeting from the staff when I arrived was warm and inviting! I felt right at home from then till I left. My room was nice, clean and cool so I slept wonderfully. Also the restroom was clean and convenient. I highly recommend this place to anyone traveling to Budapest for a stay. It was quiet up in the rooms and there were many people hanging out in the meeting room and on the patio to visit with. They also had great instructions and directions on what to see and where to eat at during my stay. I enjoyed the place and the city as well! They will take good care of you at the Grand Hostel! Thanks I will be back there for sure!

Liked: This hostel was awesome! the staff (and the owner Peter!) were great fun and always willing to give suggestions or just chat for a while! The location is a bit out of the main area, but totally worth the trip for clean rooms, clean bathrooms, hot showers, free internet, and a patio with a bar! Occasional jam sessions and hanging out outside are some of the highlights! 24 hours reception with great night staff too! WOO!
