Liked: The feel of this hostel is amazing! If you want a bohemian/ Buddhist / Hindu /new age feel than this is definitely the hostel for you. It is extremely laid back and the owners Nick and Furi are extremely interesting and kind. Every hostel I have seen and stayed in has had bunk beds, but Mandala has NO BUNK BEDS! Every bed has its own private nook and instead of bunks they have tiers and multiple floors in the same room. It is hard to explain, the pictures tell the story. If I kept going on about how great this place is I could write a novel. I thouroughly enjoyed my stay and will reccomend this hostel to anyone I meet going to Budapest.

Liked: Staff is very friendly and helpful! The location is great! I stayed in a private double room which is a passage room, through the kitchen and it was impossible to sleep when someone or staff chat or have party in the kitchen!! Also i can just say, if you need some rest after city tour or want to go to bed a little bit earlier, dont stay in a double room. Its better to take the room with 4 beds.

Liked: My boyfriend and I stayed at Mandala and we loved it !!Nick was very nice with us!We will definitely stay there if we go to Budapeste again.We recomend this place because there you feel like staying at friends house.Good location, clean, great value for money, good advices for sightseeing, excelent atmosphere.

Liked: Nick and Furi you were both amazing hostel hosts!! Our welcome was awesome. Nick introduced us to the whole city (by map) while Furi made us tea. We started with 2 nights booked and just kept asking to stay longer (with no problems). The hostel had an amazing atmosphere. Great music, candles, incense, fun lofts, beautiful curtains & wall paintings, a yoga insentive, and even a guitar to play! The kitchen and laundry facilities were great to have, breakfast was free and tasty, and everyone here is always relaxed and laid back. Free internet, and really not that hard to walk anywhere. Totally recommend this hostel to anyone and everyone looking for a chill place to stay.

Liked: Second time I have stayed in this hostel. A really warm atmosphere, mainly beacause of the very nice owners who help a lot and create a very homey stay. Love the decoration, the music and the candles. Thanks for the mulled wine too which warmed us all up after a very cold day around town !

Liked: I'm recommending Mandala to all my friends. Furi and Nick are fabulous, generous hosts and despite my initial nervousness about being a lone female traveller, I not only felt safe but right at home and had a fantastic, fun time overall and met some amazing people I'm still in touch with.This place has loads of atmosphere and is located within staggering distance to cool Pest nightspots such as Mumus and Instant. The standard of hygiene is high and for the princely sum of $AU14 a night for a bed in the Mush Room it's great value.I'll certainly miss Mandala's fantastic all-day breakfasts, hot hot showers and beautifully decorated rooms.

Liked: This place is a palace! Easily the most beautiful, creative, hostel I have stayed in. The central location means you can easily explore both Buda and Pest on foot, however for the more leisurely traveler there is also a main metro station a few streets away. Fuci and Nick are simply wonderful, they are extremely welcoming, helpful and are genuinely passionate about the city so they give great advice! Highlights for me included, spending an evening sharing a spontaneous, incredible, Hungarian feast with other guests, staff and some local friends of theirs; having a kitchen filled with little things like spices, garlic & honey which can make a big difference; and just the general atmosphere (and aromas!) of the hostel!

Liked: The owners were abosultely nice to all people there. We had lots of fun sharing experiences on saturday night and then all the people from the hostel went out together! Super place to stay (not recommended for people who just want to sleep... ;) Thaks for the stay, the best of my trip!

Liked: the orners are very friendly and give me many tips about what to see and where to go out in Budapest. The hostel look like a flat and it s the same kind of spirit than couchsurfing place. I ve been in several hostel in Europe, and it s one of my favorite. The beds has been build as mezzanine and it didn t looking like a dormroom, it s much more cozi. the price are not expensive.

Liked: I had a much better time than expected. Very nice traditional house and the decoration was inspiring. The staff were super helpful and I only wish I had more time to stay in this hostel. I also met some great travellers and, generally, it was so much fun. In fact, this is the best hostel I ever stayed during my long travelling life!!!

Liked: The people that ran this hostel are really nice. I met a bunch of really cool people and had so much fun with so many travellers who were coming and going I ended up staying here much longer than I had expected. When I told the staff I would be staying longer they were very accommodating. I would definitely stay here again if I am ever back in Budapest.

Liked: This place is simply the best youth hostel I've ever staid in! A lovely appartement with a nice and well equiped kitchen, big rooms where you can have some privacy due to the arrangement of the place, even in the one for 8 persons. The location is perfect, the most important things to see are in a walking distance and places to go out too. The owners are adorable and really helpfull, whatever you need they will take time to give you tips and help you. The atmosphere is great, it feels a bit like home and the ambiance makes it easy to meet the others guests and eventually go out with them. There's nothing wrong to say, everything was just perfect and I'm looking forward to come back!

Liked: the new owners were lovely. very helpful and had a lot of knowledge about the area and Budapest in general. they made you feel welcome and even invited us out to a friend of theirs' concert.i do feel they need to be more professional though.breakfast is included and when i got up to go to the toilet at 6am it was already laid out, the bread going stale, the cheese getting warm. they'd gone out to a bar where a friend of theirs was playing and obviously but the food out when they got home so they didnt have to get up early with a hangover and do it in the morningi wanted my washing done at 9am to have it dry by the next day when i was leaving but the guy wanted to wait until his girlfriend woke up so the machine didnt wake her (after yet another late night out) and when i got back in the afternoon at 4pm it was wet in the machine as it hadn't been hung out (which he said he would do) so when i left the next day there were still a few things that were wet
