Liked: This hostel is really homely and welcoming, and very social. The dorm rooms look amazing. I was in a room by the kitchen but it was very quiet and I slept really well. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and gave brilliant tips on local entertainment and food. I met great people, and loved staying there. Superb location!

Liked: Very cute set up, very homey. The staff is very helpful, and you can contact them any time you need it. Free coffee and tea. The owner is also very helpful and let me check out 9 hours late. One of my favorite hostels I've ever stayed at! I would definitely recommend!

Liked: Great neighborhood, close to a major metro station with all the lines. Great restaurants in the area, and close enough walk to all the ruinbars and many major attractions. Staff was very helpful. Wifi in all the rooms. I would be back for sure.

Liked: Small and clean. The staff is very helpful and told me everything I needed at check in time including a free Budapest map with places to go out at nights and to see during the day. Very quiet at night for a good sleep . I would come back without hesitation.

Disliked: Staff is not always at front desk but only on random times. Anyway, telephone number and email is provided just in case you need something urgent.

Liked: It was a pleasure to stay at Oleander Hostel in Budapest. Even if it was just one night, I had a great time. The staff is very friendly and they help you and have an answer on every question. The hostel is very familiar and you feel at home. Was really nice!

Disliked: The building is old but is the same in all Budapest.

Liked: Clean rooms, kitchen & bathrooms. Excellent location. Fantastic staff - very friendly & helpful. Common room can be a bit quiet - hard to meet people outside of your room. I booked extra nights. Absolutely recommend.

Liked: The staff were awesome, pointing on a free Budapest map upon arrival all the sightseeing and night spots which is highly appreciated. They made us feel so at home. Rooms were big and spacious and beds quite comfortable. Good kitchen & awesome location, right in the center of town. The hostel has a great atmosphere because it's smaller so everyone gets to know each other. Would definitely stay here again!!!

Liked: Wonderful hostel. Location is the best you can get. The bedrooms are very simple, but clean and comfortable, with individual lockers. The shower is not the best one I've ever seen, but it's just fine. The highlight of the hostel is their great living room with free internet, DVD, and enough space for all the guests (It has only 3 bedrooms). The staff is very friendly and helpful. Totally recommended.

Liked: nothing. friendly staff, that is all.

Disliked: no hot water in showers, cold showers suck. only 1 bathroom to share for the entire hostel. bathroom none too clean either because of that and believe me, i am not even the picky sort. i stayed in 10 hostels on my trip and this was by far the worst.

Liked: Hostel is in an ideal location, right in the center of Budapest and near main train and metro stations, these will get you anywhere in and out the city. The hostel's atmosphere is cozy and made me feel at home, and because the hostel is not that big there are some great opportunities to chat and meet (and go out with) other people. Friendliest staff! They know the city, places to be.

Disliked: Fridge a bit small.

Liked: This place got a home feel to it. It feel like apartment converted to hostel but in a very nice way. The bathroom (shared) is a spacious one, just like someone's home. The common area and the room are nice and comfy. The location is really close to the main pedestrian street and the river. The staff is very nice and would let you know what nearby restaurants are really good and cheap. Actually , I have extended my stay and I would recommend to everybody to stay here.

Liked: The staff was very helpful, the rooms and bathrooms were clean and there was a big lock box that fit your backpack. The location couldn't be better, the kitchen facilities are also very good and I would recommend this hostel to any one.

Liked: Location is easy to find.

Disliked: There were warning signs everywhere. The receptionist locked the door when we were inside. It isn't cool and isn't normal.

Liked: Friendly staff and a great central location. Rooms were nice and spacy as well. The hostel is very small indeed with only 3 rooms, I thought this was nice but others may not. Location is best factor though.

Disliked: when we came to check out no one was around so we had to leave and come back later also the hostel was full when we were there thus long queues developed for the one shower in the mornings and evenings.

Liked: It was in a very good location, the staff made sure to point out necessary areas on the map.

Disliked: It was extremely small. Only one shower between all of the rooms which got a bit hectic at times.

Liked: It had a good location

Disliked: There was never anyone to help us, give advice or anything. The day we arrived the receptionist had no idea where anything was in the city - not even a place to eat, nor did she know there was a city-wide festival going on. She was pretty much useless. The laundry machine and drier were exorbitant - 9000 forints! That's practically the price of the room! There was no free tea or coffee as advertised and there wasn't much room to meet people. One bathroom with shower for the entire hostel.

Liked: The staff was amazing, always helpful and polite. Excellent location, just a couple of minutes walking distance from the sightseeing and shopping area, perfect for me. The hostel's facilities were great, clean and nice. Small and cozy hostel, the staff told me that I should feel like I was at home, and that's what I did. All in all, I totally recommend to stay here!

Liked: The location couldn't be better. The staff was so nice and friendly and the hostel itself was very homey and cozy. Nice rooms with very comfortable beds. Good for sleeping, not the best choice if you prefer parties and noise. Close to metro stations and therefore a good connection to different places in Budapest. Definitely one of the best hostels I've ever stayed in.

Liked: It has an awesome location in Budapest. The staff, could not be more helpful in helping out with the town, where to go, what to see and how to do it. The hostel is fun, clean, secure, safe, with all the facilities that you could need. It is right next to two metro stops but best of all walking distance for all the sights.. I would definitely stay in this hostel if I go back to Budapest again, I recommend it to all!

Liked: Friendliness of staff on the brief couple of times i saw them.

Disliked: It is an appartment turn into a hostal. The place is really not set up thinking about bagpack travelers. There is no staff to ask questions or enforce the rule they have posted on the walls.

Liked: The staff is incredibly helpful although they are not always available. The hostel is located as central as you could ask. The atmosphere is nice and it´s one of the cleanest hostel I have ever seen. The staff also gave me invaluable advice on the thermal bath and other places I would visit. I will definitely stay here every time I go back to Budapest!

Liked: Location

Disliked: There was one bathroom for the everyone staying at the hostel; which was about 30 people. The water of the shower was freezing cold and the bathrooms were dirty. The staff was never there. The last day we needed to do check out and get our safety deposit back and no one arrived until 11 so we missed the whole day we were stuck in the hostel.
