Liked: The atmosphere at The Groove hostel is unique- it feels like you're staying over at a friend's house; the staff are extremely friendly, relaxed and sociable. The hostel is situated around a stunning courtyard and the decor inside is equally open-planned with comfortable areas to sit around in and socialise. The location of the hostel is also fab- we were able to walk to most places. There's also a Spar across the road so you can pick up a cheap breakfast/dinner and plenty of restaurants and a club down the road!

Disliked: If you want a lot of privacy I wouldn't recommend The Groove but otherwise nothing negative comes to mind!

Liked: The staff were very helpful and friendly. My friend and I stay in the private ensuit room. This room was massive and very clean. I shared a kitchen with another private room.

Disliked: None.

Liked: great staff always willing to help you out with suggestions... really chilled out and friendly. fully equipped kitchen and homely common room to hang out and drink, play board gamest, etc. great price. comfy beds and big well lit rooms. free towels and linen. free internet.

Disliked: rooms were directly off the common room so it could be a bit noisy. showers and bathrooms were often occupied so had to wait 5-10 minutes.

Liked: Great hostel with a really good informal ambient. Great to who are travelling and want some days of rest but also know new people. The Groove team is also really nice. I really feel welcome when I touch the ring door for the first time and the hostess was waiting for me... Great experience....

Disliked: Nothing....

Liked: There is a great atmosphere - cozy hostel with friendly staff and comfortable, spacious bedrooms. The staff share tips for nightlife, but there is also a pretty great loft if you're keen on watching a dvd. Everyone has their own massive locker - with padlocks provided for a deposit, and there are codes to enter the building and the hostel itself. Also, good location.

Liked: The apartment (if you book a private room you end up in one of the apartments, if you book a dorm you are in the hostel itself.) is great value for money and it has it's own well equipped kitchen with espresso machine. The apartment we stayed in (there are three in total, as well as the hostel) was in the same apartment building as the hostel so it was just a 30 second walk away. The upstairs TV area in the hostel was really nice because the sound didn't carry too much, so you could watch movies without disturbing others who were sleeping or hanging out in the kitchen/ reception area. Also, even though we were staying in an apartment we were still welcome to use the facilities such as the TV and computer and hang out in the reception/ common areas.

Disliked: The location wasn't that central, but it was only about a 20 minute walk to the centre. Staying in the apartment made it a little bit difficult to meet other travellers because the dorms have their own common areas in them and that seems to be where most of the people hang out. However, there's still a small common area in the reception/ kitchen area.

Liked: Terrific people, outgoing staff, excellent location, great value. What's not to like? I would stay here again in a heartbeat! It was by far the best hostel experience I've ever had.

Liked: We stayed in the double room with ensuite and it was beautiful. A lovely big bed, with a couch, radio, and really nice (very clean!) bathroom. Fantastic value for money. There's a great kitchen, with everything that you'll need, including good coffee. The staff are really friendly, and the hostel is really central, walking distance to most of the main tourist sights. The private rooms are seperate to the main part of the hostel, but it's basically just across the hall and they were very welcoming for us to come over to the main part of the hostel with them. The hostel is in a beautiful old building, very pretty. Very very happy with my stay, and I'll definitely stay here again if I'm back in Budapest.

Liked: The property is set in a lovely old building, and is in a brilliant location - within walking distance to the centre - about 5 or 10 mins from parliament and the river. Our room was a private room and was amazing!!! ensuite, kitchen facilities, sofa, cd player...

Disliked: The private rooms are in a seperate building so are a bit cut-off.

Liked: It's so different to any other Hostel I have stayed at before. I seemed more like a big apartment with heaps for people living in it. My friends and I had a great time. We met alot of cool people and the staff were so helpful with everything.

Disliked: There was nothing I really disliked. The only problems we seemed to have were that the TV died during my stay and there was not propper washing facilities in the building. But was were well directed somewhere else where we could do it.

Liked: The staff were SO helpful, they booked our bus tickets over the Internet for us, saving us a trip back to the station. They went out of their way to make us feel a home and ensure we got the most out of our stay in Budapest.
