Liked: Very friendly welcoming staff. Went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable. Extremely clean and tidy. The beds were single and separate unlike uncomfortable bunk beds like other hostels. It is a 7 minute walk from the metro but still an excellent location with pretty little eateries lined across both sides of the street. Great value for money!

Disliked: Nothing!

Liked: The host offered the hair dryer.

Disliked: When I was checkin' -in, the host was a little bit drunk. Sometimes, the host was naked to the waist. I had to get up and go out earlier because I was afraid of being the only one left in the dorm .

Liked: Absolutely amazing place to stay. The owners are friendly and willing to help (they spent ages sorting out all our buses for us on the Hungarian websites), and are really accommodating, making you feel like a house-guest! The shared room is really nice, the beds are single rather than bunk beds which was a welcome break, and the artwork on the wall was incredible! The bathroom is a family bathroom, with an actual bath! Location-wise the hostel is great! We came from the bus station (Nepliget) and bought a single ticket to Kalvin Ter. From there it is a 5 minute walk, not too much with a backpack! The hostel is on Raday Street where all the best (and cheapest!) restaurants are, so at night you never end up too far away. Budapest was a great city to visit and this hostel made it incredible!

Disliked: Honestly, nothing. The street outside was a little noisy but not enough to disturb sleep, and that is to be expected because of the fantastic location.

Liked: As soon as we got there we were welcomed by Elizabeth, who freshly made up our beds, and did everything she could to be helpful! The hostel was really homely, and had a relaxed atmosphere :) Would definitely recommend!!!

Disliked: It took a long time to walk from the train station with a heavy backpack, but was good once we got there :)

Disliked: No cityplans, leaflets available, however when we asked the staff, we got great tips (restaurants, bath...).

Disliked: hard to find, not that clean, and our friend was there who speaks hungarian and apprently they were not saying very nice things about people staying including us!! smoke alot of weed all the time.

Liked: Location is great. Nice street with all kinds of restaurants and pubs with local people and little tourists. Supermarket and ATM directly on the corner.

Disliked: A bit of a noisy place and my bed was too small.

Liked: Quirky place but maybe that is Budapest. I only stayed one night but would have stayed more if I could. Felt you were meeting locals, and that is what it is rooms in somebodys large flat. Really nice area with a street of "terraced" various restaurants just outside just take your pick.. You have a word with the guy who I thought was the owner and he gives you a code for the entry system. Metro and trams just up the road - bit further than 5 minutes I think. Babies and cats running around good if you like babies and cats which happily I do.

Disliked: Not really known locally as a hostel, I asked 2 workers in the bar restaurant next door where Maxims was and they didn't know, they came outside and finally sent me to a big hostel down the road! I found it a bit Bizzare initially. Never got the promised drink in the bumpf/discription. Pictures where much better than it was, bit of poetic licence there I think.

Liked: Everything, the bathroom/bedroom facilities were ace and comfortable, and the location of the hostel was on one of the most bustling streets in Budapest, full of budget food places and character. Couldn't fault it.

Disliked: Nothing really, a little expensive compared to other Eastern European hostels but totally worth the money.

Liked: Strange hostel. It's clean enough and facilities are fine. They rent bikes quite cheaply and their kitchen is good. The manager even cooks a really good dinner for 2 EUR, However the place seems fundamentally unprofessional. They seem to mess bookings up a lot, but they usually sort it out. The staff are all family and they're friendly enough, but guests don't seem to be a high priority. They do have a nice cat though.

Liked: Probably the best place I've ever stayed in. Rooms are huge and lovely, shower and bathrooms fine, and literally five minutes from the National Museum or a Metro station. The hostel is on a street of restaurants but make sure you eat here too! The owners are chefs and can rustle up some Hungarian quisine for only 2 Euros, which is much less than a restaurant even in cheaper Hungary, and you eat it in a friendly atmosphere with a glass of Palinka. Can't recommend this place enough.PS. THEY HAVE A CAT! Answers to 'cat' or 'Mr Kitty' (in my experience). Often plays in the bath (see below)

Disliked: There's no plug in the bath. But there is a cat, so your mileage may vary.

Liked: for just 10euros a night we got an apartment! nice bathroom and bedroom, and you get an oven,hobs,fridge, freezer.the staff are really friendly and funny, my 2 mates even had a drink with the owner when they went to use the internet.. All round Excellent hostel

Disliked: You need to look carefully when finding it as there isnt any big sign, just the address.

Liked: Great hospitality and excellent price. It's like staying at a friend's apartment, and I actually became friends with the owner there so it was even more accurate for me!Great place to stay, and very close to plenty of food and walking distance to sights or tram anywhere else.

Liked: Great staff, were very friendly. One of the big advantages there is always someone present so you can check in at any time ad go ask for information at anytime. They gave us their phone number when we arrivied in case we needed something or got lost.Was great to be able to rent bikes even though they were old they worked very well

Liked: This was such a small hostel, it was more of a self-catered apartment. We were there in off-season and for all but 3 of the nights we were the only 2 people staying so they let us sleep in the private room rather than the dorm for no extra cost.The owners were lovely, very friendly and helpful. The location is not in the very centre, but its situated on a street full of restaurants (I'd recommend the tapas place at the top) and not far from the centre of Pest with more bars, shops and restaurants. There is also a metro stop at the top of the road, but you barely need it.

Liked: It's a really friendly hostel!!! We were very comfortable there. We had the whole facilities that you can imagine. The staff is fantastic!!! You are like at home in Maxim Hostel. I really recommend it.
