Liked: Great small hostel in a good location. Staff really friendly and helpful with suggestions of what to do and how to get around as well as taking us out a few times in the evening. Would definitely stay there again!

Disliked: Nothing - was great!

Liked: The staff are awesome! They were really helpful with ideas for things to see, doing laundry, and giving out free home-made Hungarian sweets! This is one of the few hostels I would come back to & am sad to leave!

Disliked: The tv (free DVDs!) is in one of the dorms - so make sure you make friends with someone from that room if you're in the other!

Liked: Every staff member that I had the good fortune to meet were among the friendliest I have come across. The whole setup was really cute, every bed had a secure locker, there was free wifi and computers for internet access, the kitchen was perfectly adequate and while I was there I enjoyed free tea and coffee as well as goulash for dinner one night. A great hostel!

Disliked: The bedroom (6 bed mixed dorm) could be a bit noisy if people were walking around because the floorboards were creaky. It was hard to find something about this hostel not to like though!

Liked: First, I was welcomed by the staff with genuine smiles and cheer as they introduced themselves, they all made sure I had everything I needed and honestly went out of their way to make sure I was going to make the most of my short stay! I was so impressed. Second, the atmosphere in the place was so laid back, I felt totally at ease. Also, I loved the 8 bed dorm with the huge octagonal bed/lounge where you can just chill out if you´ve got the time! The location was great, close to some of the best ruin bars as well as all the sights to see during the day.

Disliked: Although the kitchen and common room might be small, the 8 bed dorm was big enough to not feel like I was crammed. And anyway, it was winter and the closeness made it more cozy.

Liked: The facilities in the apartment were really good, made it so much easier that you could cook your own food! The staff were really helpful and made sure we made good use of our time in Budapest. Would definately stay here again.

Liked: An extremely welcoming and warm atmosphere. The hostel is very cozy and the rooms are uniquely decorated. One of the best hostels I have stayed at.

Liked: This place was very cosy, and coming from a very characterless hostel in belgrade this was actually a bit like coming home. The guy who checked me in was genuinly friendly, the location was great between the szechenyi -bath and downtown, with lots of places nearby for eating. Would definitely recommend this place!

Liked: this was the coziest, cutest and homiest hostel i've ever stayed in. the staff are all adorable, helpful and extremely nice. the free use of computers around the hostel is an added perk. the location is great, QUICK walking distance to both the opera and the terror museum (and the oktogon metro station). it's so small and cozy that it's easy to meet people and make friends.

Disliked: it's quite loud in the mornings so it's tough to sleep in... the place is quite small so music and chatting from the lobby and kitchen area can be heard easily in bedrooms. there might be many restaurants and bars around the hostel, but they're all quite expensive since we're by the upscale andrassy street (besides mcdonald's and burger king of course). the entry is kind of hidden and you have to climb a bit of stairs to reach it (and be quick on the stairs - the automatic light turns off too fast) but that's just a minor thing.

Liked: The staff were friendly and really, really helpful - providing maps, suggestions and answering all of my questions. The hostel is in a great location and was the cleanest hostel I've ever stayed in. The mattresses were super comfy and the beds had proper duvets. I only had a short stay in Budapest but loved every minute of it and would definitely stay here again.

Liked: This is a very cute little hostel with lots of character. The communal kitchen/dining area and hall/lounge are interestingly decorated and, along with the staff themselves, give the place a warm, friendly atmosphere which is exactly what you want when travelling in a group or alone (we were a group of 6 staying in the 6-bed room and the staff recommended sights to see and restaurants and pubs as well as actually coming out with us one evening). Location could not be better as it's in the centre of town, we walked eveywhere. Overall a great hostel, especially for the amount it costs.

Disliked: Very little to complain about, expecially for the price!

Liked: Best hostel I've stayed at. Has a really nice home feel to it unlike the big chain hostels. Really cool set up in the dorms and no bunk beds! Kitchen and lounge with heaps of brochures and info. Close to the metro and supermarket right around the corner. Staff are amazingly helpful and will come out for bevs after! Would definitely stay again!

Liked: Absolutely everything was perfect. The staff are amazing, friendly, and knowledgeable. They have a huge abudance of information on good cheap ways to get all around Europe. IMHO, this would be a perfect place to start your backpaking adventure - transportation options are readily available which are far cheaper than can be booked from the U.S., and I'm sure the staff would have some good ideas as well. The decore is fun and lively, and "home made" it is; totally like a liberal oasis in Europe. Not a party hostel - more of a "let's go get some beers and hang out, cuz were really interesting folk around here" kinda place. A must see if you are in Budapest, and if you're in Europe and don't go to Budapest, you're missing out.

Disliked: Absolutely nothing.

Liked: Relaxed and social atmosphere, clean bathrooms, smaller sized dorm room, secure, friendly and helpful staff. Had a really fun night with the pub crawl organised by home made staff.

Liked: Best atmosphere ever for a hostel and the best staff!! It's like staying at a good friend's house. The even make events that really help guests get to know each other at the hostel. Wish I could have stayed more.

Liked: the staff was very friendly and helpful. Anna was really nice and she gave us excellent restaurant recomendations. the building was really beautiful

Disliked: We stayed in a separate apartment and it was really fine... the common facilities appeared to be a little crowded

Liked: Every single corner of this hostel, it made my Budapest experience worthwhile, and it gave me a belonging to the place, it makes you feel at home by every meaning of the word. if havent been to homemade hostel you havent been to Budapest. its right in the centre everything is just a walking distance and the directions to get to the hostel are perfect. All the appreciation to the staff for this wonderful experience

Liked: Amazing hostel, best I have visited so far. Extremely nice and helpful staff. The hostel atmosphere is very warm and welcoming, and Tuesday night dinner was delicious. I stayed for 4 days and would love to go back in the future.

Liked: Great location, great staff. Relaxed, casual and friendly atmosphere

Disliked: The lightning of staircases leading to the hostel was not switched ON at times, hence it was going up the staircase in pitch dark. The automatic light at bottom of staircase switches off too early.

Liked: This hostel has a lovely vibe with exceptionally helpful staff. It was clean and in a good location.

Disliked: No locks on dorm doors but felt safe enough and did have medium sized lockers and a code to get in the front door.
