Ramya KancharlaThe only good thing about this place, apart from the fact that it is cheap, is the location. It is just a few minutes walk from Raday utca, which is a happening street filled with bars, pubs and restaurants. It's also only a short walk from the closest metro station. Its actually located right in the heart of the city. Some of the rooms also have a nice view of the Danube. The price is also very good. We got a private twin room with shared bathroom for 21 euros, that too on Formula One weekend. They have a 24hour reception, and the staff speak English and is helpful. However, the bathrooms were dirty. I've stayed in hostels across Europe, and this one had the dirtiest loos I've had the misfortune to use. They were cleaned every morning, but the cleaners did a bad job, because you could make out they were quite dirty in the morning itself. But by night, they were completely unusable. The two days I stayed here, I made it a point to use public restroom facilities during the day so that I'd minimise my need to go to the hostel bathroom in the night! It was that bad. Also, the place is quite dead. I mean, forget about it being a party hostel, it had no people hanging around in the lounge area at any time, if you thought you could meet up with people to hang out with. If you are looking for a hostel which offers pub crawls or other group events, this is certainly not it! Also, the hostel didnt even offer paid internet access, so that was very inconvenient. |

Mahmood HosseiniGOOD things: location, met some very nice friendly people there, helpful staff, free table tennis. BAD things: no air-conditioning! (Temperature in Budapest was 40C when we were there and our room was even hotter!), No internet access, No toilet tissue paper, smelly bathrooms, Stained bedding, do not accept credit cards. The kitchenette consisted of only 1 microwave. Nothing else. (tip: Go to the nearby supermarket to buy disposable plates etc..) |
