Liked: though the building itself (mirador mansion)looked old and worn-down, the flat where the rooms are(ours 7th floor), is well lighted, clean,designed to look like any other posh hotel only smaller in scale(cause everything in Hong kong is expensive, maximizing space is understandable). the rooms even though small and has only basic amenities is sufficient for someone on a tight budget and only looking for a place to spend the night with.the beds are in perfect condition and not sogging(?) like in other cheap hostels, bedsheets are clean and changed everyday I think cause every time we get to the room after our daily exploring the rooms we booked are clean and the sheets looked changed.new bath towels are provided by the cleaning crew which I happen to meet on our check-out day, she's friendly and very respectful..she spoke in a soft voice unlike most hong-kongers I've met who seemed to have only one volume of voice (almost always shouting). the Filipina lady who let us in for the night (we arrived 2am, the hostels reception desk is closed, all businesses are closed by that time, but though she's sleepy she's still polite and accommodating giving us our booked rooms. there's water heater in the room, a very big plus considering its very cold when we visited hongkong. there's drinking water dispenser that has hot and cold water for those who are in need of a drink.the room rates given to us are very reasonable. we will definitely go back to this hostel on our next trip cause the building is located at right next to tsim sha tsui MTR very convenient when going around the city.

Disliked: there's nothing to dislike.even though the building that housed the hostel is old and looks haunted (haha) the security officers are very friendly and helpful, though not everyone speaks good english they tried their best to put us at ease by chatting with us in broken english mandarin words and to help us in our every queries (i.e. which bus to take going where, where is a reasonable priced resto is located.

Liked: The location was good, right on Nathan road. Obviously when you go to a hostel, you expect only the basics, and that is what this hostel offered, so I was relatively happy with it.

Disliked: No atmosphere, and actually getting there from the lift was annoying after 10 pm.

Liked: Near to malls and tourist spots.

Disliked: people were not accomodating. the lady who checkin us late at night were rude. we have hardtime because the rooms were on the different floors. we need to use stairs to reach our friends. No WIFI access.

Liked: The Location is good, room was clean.

Disliked: Like nearly all rooms in Mirador Mansion it was tiny. Single room 1.7m long by 1.2m wide. Room was not en-suite and outside toilet/shower was not only for me as promised. toilet/shower was shared with other guests and staff, so room occupied alot and constantly wet. Shower head was also broken so had to just use hose. Not at all the worst place I stayed at in my 2.5years of travelling, but then again prices in Hong Kong are so much more than anywhere else I have travelled that I was hoping for a bit better. But its similar to many other places in Mirador Mansion, so just be prepared and you wont be disappointed.

Liked: Location, rooms are cleaner than I expected

Disliked: No socket for my gadgets in my room. No cold drinking water. Have to walk all the way near the front desk for a Wi-Fi signal. No phones in my room or anywhere when I asked the staff

Liked: just location

Disliked: the staff really un professional. night before i stay here, i stay at another hostel in Mong Kok. they really good. but this hotel... uh... so smelly, the bathroom was very dirty, without tiddue at toilet and no soap for wash hand. The AC was not good, and poor TV channel. I think this is the worst hostel i ever stay in.

Liked: The room was clean, quite comfortable. Safe and secure.

Disliked: Could provide better quality maintenance for the rooms. The bathroom door in the room I stayed was spoiled and took quite a while to get someone to fix it. The access can be quite frustrating as the elevator is small and it was shared with other guests from other guesthouses as well. However, this is the way the building is, so the guesthouse is not responsible.

Liked: central location, clean and quiet enough for the money

Disliked: It's not an awful place to stay, but it's not great either. Staff are unfriendly and pushy, beds were little. There's not much in HK for this cheap, but I'd spend the little bit extra, you'll get somewhere a lot nicer.

Liked: I'D LIKE MOST HERE TO STAY WAS THE LOCATION IS VERY ACCESSIBLE TO ALL TOURIST SPOT DESTINATION IN HONGKONG, YOU WILL FIND YOUR NEEDS 24 HOURS 7DAYS A WEEK WITH VERY CHEAP PRICES SPECIALLY TO DOES BUDGET CONSCIOUS TRAVELERS.

TOTALLY BLACK OUT FROM12MIDNIGHT UNTIL 5:00 IN MORNING I'M SO MADLY DISAPPOINTING, NORMALLY IN THIS SITUATION THE MANAGEMENT HAVE A PRIVATE GENERATOR TO SUPPORT THE NEEDS OF THEIR COSTUMER, IN THE FIRST PLACE YOUR BUSINESS IS GUESS HOUSE SO MEANING YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO PREPARED FOR THE UNEXPECTED SITUATION.

Liked: It was the cheapest place in Hong Kong we could find. Stuff wasn't too polite, but was ok. Location is perfect - metro stop and avenue of stars - right behind the corner.

Disliked: It is not a place to meet people (there is simply no place for that), it is a place just to spend a nigth not in the street. Do not expect windows in the room, but it is more or less the same in the nearby hostels. It wasn't clean, but u can survive if u have own sleeping bag ;) No services on offer, not much help from stuff.

Liked: Really, NOTHING!

Disliked: Really, EVERYTHING! The bathrooms were poorly maintained and designed so that no average person would have enough room to take a shower. Luckily, I only stayed one night and thus did not need to take a shower. The lady who checked me in was so unfriendly and "down to business." Really, she could not hide the fact that all she wanted was my money and that she wanted me out of there as fast as possible. She did not even think twice to remind me THREE times that check out time was 11:00 AM the next day, all in the span of about 5 minutes. And worse, the next day, I went out to visit a friend, just to come back to find someone else's luggage in my room. Apparently, she had thought I had checked out, and so had given my room to someone else, yet I still had a key on me, and the time was not yet 11:00 AM. What made her think that??? And then, let's not forget the noise. The walls are so paper thin, it's almost like not having them, really. Next door, there was a crying baby, a loud group of partiers, and some local immigrants blabbing away, and that's all I could hear throughout the night. Overall, I would NEVER stay at this place again! Enough said!
