Liked: Cleaner than some hotels I've stayed in. The staff were helpful not only with making sure our room was comfortable, but also in assisting us with figuring out how to get to certain locales (like the Dragon Boat Races). Held our bags after we checked out with now questions in a secure location.

Liked: If you're looking for a good, clean, and secure place to stay in Kowloon, seriously consider the New International Guest House. This was my 4th trip to Hong Kong and my 5th hostel and this place is one of the only two that I would recommend. I prefer staying on the island, but I decided that I needed to try the Chung King Mansions at least once. The location is decent (great for Kowloon). The description online, unlike so many hostels in HK, is honest. The place is kept immaculately clean and from the time I checked in until the time I picked up my luggage on my way out, I ever once felt that I or my belongings were not safe and secure.Ms. Kim, the owner, is a firecracker--totally a joy to have around. She's an accommodating innkeep and is a helpful resource, especially if you're new to HK. She's sweet.Additionally, she won't rip you off. She kept my luggage for about 8 hours without charging me anything AND she kept it in a locked room.If you're willing to brave the Chung King Mansions, I'd go straight to the New International Guest House.

Liked: Good location in the middle of TST, the main tourist district of HK. Beware, though, of hawkers on the street.

Liked: The location of the hostel was excellent for a few days stay in Hong Kong - an MTR station next to the hostel and a 5 minute walk to the star ferry. Our double bedroom was compact, but very clean and included a bathroom and tv. The staff were always to hand and very helpful. Would definately recommend this hostel as somewhere to stay. Only drawback is to follow the instructions to get there which the hostel staff send you prior to your visit - first set of lifts!

Liked: Locationin lower Kowloon excellent. Owner very nice. Room small, toilet/shower room smaller. But clean and safe. Slight wait for the elevevator at times, but roll with the punches: you are on vacation!

Liked: I have stayed here for six nights. The hostel is based at an excellent location in Kowloon. Although the main entrance of the building was a little crowded and sometimes there is a waiting line for the elevator, the hostel itself is neat and the staff very friendly. The building itself is rather old, but this hostel is quite new and the rooms clean. I even had a TV and there was WiFi. This was my first visit to Hongkong and the hotel rates there are very expensive. I believe that New International Guesthouse offers a good low cost place to stay and believe me, if you are in a city like Hongkong, you won’t be at your room a lot.

Liked: The hostel was simple but clean. The staff was friendly and the hostel was well located. But be aware that the Chunking Mansion is a bit of a suspect place.

Liked: as far as HK hostels go, this one is pretty good, reasonably priced, run by a very friendly woman who is willing to help, but the facilities on offer are pretty much a bed and a toilet and shower. That said, the hostel is in Chungking Mansions, which has pretty much every amenity you could need in it.
