Liked: It's in a location that has easy access to MTR and within walking distance to many attractions. The room was very clean and the staff clean it everyday. They offer discounted tickets to some of Hong Kong's attractions. I'm not sure what all the fuss is about with the people downstairs as they can be helpful and are easily ignored.

Disliked: They claim 24 hour showers which is true as you can shower anytime, however the hot water only lasts 5-7 minutes.

Liked: really great place. Heard lots of bad things about Chungking Mansions but Mapleleaf Guest House is a great place, just like the one I know in Miramar Mansions. Would recommend it to everybody!!

Liked: Maple leaf is required hotel expected. Stand on arround gorgeous area and offering safety. The staffs always give their best smile in servicing

Liked: location is perfect! It is near the airport bus (A21,N21) and the metro and near lots of shops and places one can eat.

Disliked: small bathroom but for the price it is ok

Liked: close to the stores we need to go to, very accessible to all modes of transport

Disliked: very busy, noisy & untidy entry way to the elevators

Liked: The location is superb! Near to bus station, MRT and can catch taxi easily. Besides, near to the jetty as well. The staffs are very helpful.

Disliked: The room is very small but neat. The building is full of foreigners but did not disturb us anyway. Another thing would be the lift, have to wait for quite some times for it to reach.

Liked: The owner is friendly and helpful.

Disliked: The colonization of the surrounding (ground floor) foreigners looked scary, but they are not disturbing. The elevator is slow.

Liked: What I like about Maple Leaf Guest house are the friendly and helpful staff.Although the room was small it's okay for us because it was clean.I would recommend this guest to all the travelers because of the location,the staff and cleanliness.I would definitely go back.

Disliked: What I don't like about the place is the black people downstairs..But I think you don't have to worry about because they're harmless.

Liked: The location can be said as a heart place to go any famous places with MTR! The hostel is clean & well control. It's comfortable!

Disliked: The building is a bit old and the ground floor is always full with black people but they are not disturbing.

Liked: John the manager was very nice and very helpful. The rooms were clean.

Disliked: Hong Kong is expensive, and while that's not Maple Leaf's fault, you pay a lot of money for very little room. The Chungking Mansions couldn't be better located, but it's definitely a little sketchy walking through the ground floors and meeting some of the characters there. Thankfully once you're in your room, you feel really far away from all that. One suggestion: if you're going to be arriving early or late (outside normal reception hours, probably about 9/10AM to 7/8PM, make sure to tell John in advance! I'm sure he can arrange to meet you whenever needed, but otherwise there's no reception on site, and every person in the guesthouse gets woken up at 7am when you're loudly knocking at the door and ringing the bell.

Liked: The staff are the best, they were very hospitable and friendly. They even offered to us discounted tickets to Disneyland and Ocean Park. The rooms are quite small, but nonetheless very clean. They clean the rooms and even change the linen and towels everyday.

Disliked: None.

Liked: the owners are very friendly and helpful. they offered tickets with discounts and help us with the transportation. the rooms are very clean, they change towels and collect garbage every day. super value for your money.

Disliked: there are a lot of bystanders outside the building but you'll get used to it...

Liked: extremely friendly and helpful staff, great value for money

Disliked: the only issue is that it is located in the Chungking Mansions, one of the shadiest places in HK. lots of Indians in the lobby trying to sell suits, cheap electronics - or drugs. Definitely not safe for single female travellers, I was told that one "disappeared" in the mansions last year. search for the chungking mansions on youtube to get an impression.
