Liked: Location is excellent, room is clean and Wifi is available. Stuffs are friendly and helpful.

Disliked: Queue for the elevator. No hot water enough because of heater's ability . But I understand the price is reasonable and I'll stay next time .

Liked: Friendly run and one of the nicer properties in chung king mansions. The rooms are modern renovated with flat screen tv and ensuite bathroom. small space 2m x 3m but that is normal for hong kong. there are three air pumps for ventilation and smoke and fire alarms. bathroom has its own boiler you can switch on but only stores about 8 mins hot water. i had an evening flight but they let me leave my bag at reception all day. lots of indian food available on the arcade level. airport bus stop is outside for 33 HKD, star ferry terminal and macau ferry both a short walk away. I would stay here again and recommend to friends that want good budget accomodation

Disliked: elevator can only hold 6 people at a time. something was moving in the airvent at night. follow the directions from hostel and dont talk to anyone in the lobby when you arrive

Liked: A great hostel at fab value! Great location with the MTR across the street and just two stops to Central. Owners are lovely and do the most to make your stay as good as possible. The owners speak very good english making everything easy to do. Great room, clean and many plug sockets! Overall a very good stay!!! Great value for money!

Disliked: The mansion itself is a little difficult to navigate the first time you arrive, but apple's map helped a great deal!

Liked: Fantastic hostel!!! Great location just two stops from central on MTR. I had a really nice room, which was very clean and everything worked very well. There was even an adaptor and laptops that you can borrow! The owners are incredibly nice and will try and help make your stay in Hong Kong the best it can be. Best value for money for a single room around!

Disliked: Chungking mansion itself at first is a little scary, but after your first visit getting to the hostel its fine!

Liked: The hostel staff were very friendly and helpful, and can actually communicate in English very well. The room is tiny but just fine enough for me to be there just to sleep and use the bathroom. The location is awesome, easy to get around to other areas. There are convenient stores, banks, shopping places everywhere nearby. There are few inconvenience but overall is great!

Disliked: well, the floor of the hostel itself is good but the ground floor of the buiilding kind of look dim and creepy, can feel a little bit dangerous but i think it is actually safe. The elevator line is long, have to wait a bit to go up, for the way down it's normally fulled by the time it gets to the10th floor, can take the stairs instead.

Liked: As with most of Hong Kong, it wasn't amazing. It was however far nicer than most the accomodation available. The Building it is in is a little dodgey, has a large elevator queue, and the men will do their best to guide them to the hostels they run.

Liked: Good location

Disliked: Credit cards are NOT accepted. Access to the hostel is slightly intimidating (for all the shady characters hanging around the bazaar—calling it a "shopping mall" is by far too flattering—in the building lobby) and painfully slow (a single crawling elevator for 7 persons, with queues of up to 20 persons forming regularly). The staircase is small, so in case of a big fire most probably no one from higher floors has any chance of survival. The hostel is located at the 10th floor. Excluding the (tiny) bathroom, the double room had less than 1 sq.m.(!!) of free space (not occupied by the bed or tables). And as tiny as it was, the room still could not be well cooled by the air conditioner installed, so it always remained humid and hot.

Liked: Despite being quite small (ensuite single room is approx 1.5 single bed widths x 1.5 single bed lengths) the room was quite new, very clean, fast and reliable wifi, flatscreen tv, really everything you need. The staff were also very friendly and helpful and I felt very safe once I was in the hostel and out of the chaos that is the ground floor of Chungking Mansions. Apart from the building itself the hostel is located in a fantastic spot, right on Nathan Road close to everything you need.

Disliked: Chungking mansions is very dodgy downstairs (the other reviews do not exaggerate) so be prepared to be harassed and for lengthy waits when you want to take the lift (particularly going down). I gave up and walked the stairs once and it was the first time that I actually felt afraid in the building (I would not recommend doing that if you are a lone female traveller - maybe lone males too?)

Liked: I was staying in the "single deluxe" room, it was rather cheap and very comfortable. There were a private bathroom, a tv set, a kettle, a mirror, an adapter for european outlet, free cable internet and wi-fi. The room was rather small, but it didn't matter, especially in Hong Kong. It was clean, they changed bedclothes and towel. The bed was comfortable. And there were no bedbugs. The location is excellent - near two mtr stations, an airport bus station and a ferry pier. The Avenue of Stars and the Kowloon Park are also near at hand. The owner and the staff are friendly and helpful. The check-in was at 1 p.m., but they let me leave my bag in the morning, and they also let me leave it for several hours after the check-out. I would highly recommend Apple Hostel.

Disliked: The cooler was very noisy. And I saw a couple of cockroaches. The Chungking Mansions building is under renovation now, so it is noisy from 9 a.m. to 5 or 6 p.m. But it doesn't matter, because almost nobody is in the hostel in the daytime.

Liked: Excellent location and the kindest staff one can imagine. Rooms are tiny, but at our private double room was spotless. Excellent choice for budget travelers!

Disliked: Chungking Mansions building wasn't that nice. Lots of fake item sellers.

Liked: The room was clean and staff very friendly. Location was great.

Disliked: The room was very small, but I think that's unavoidable in HK. My girlfriend found she didn't sleep very well because of noise from water running etc during the night. I had no problems though.

Liked: The staff was extremely helpful. I felt completely safe there. Also the rooms were quite clean.. The cleaning lady is a gem!

Liked: Room itself is good and right for me. It's clean and the bed was comfortable for me.

Disliked: Elevator is too crowded and slow. Environment outside is not too pleasing. Difficult to get into an exit in case of fire.

Liked: It's very clean, all brand new albeit small but you are not going to be dancing in the room anyway. Good value for what you paid for and the staff especially Tita Siony and Raymond they are excellent.

Disliked: Only those hawkers at the lobby are annoying at times but if you don't talk them they won't talk to you either so everything is good.

Liked: Apple Hostel was in the famous Chungking mansion building. The building itself is run down but is going through some major improvements. Apple Hostel was on a floor that had been totally renovated. The room was tiny (as all rooms in all hotels are in the building) but spotless and newly decorated, tv,wifi, fridge, kettle ect.More like a mini hotel room. Staff were really helpfull, especially Hazel. The ground floor enterence to the building during the day is mixing pot of cultures, mainly indian and african. There is awesome curries! After 11pm the atmosphere is a bit different. I never had a problem but some might feel uncomfortable there. Location to expolre HK is perfect.....

Liked: Family business and therefore you got a very personal experience. Rooms were cleaned daily. Ended up staying an extra couple of nights.

Liked: Die Lage ist super, und das Personal ist sehr nett. Leider sind in der Gegend alle Hostels auf einem recht lausigen Niveau. Jedoch könnte das Hostel besser ausgestattet und sauberer sein.
