Liked: The free Wifi

Disliked: My room was so small, I couldn't open my suitcase or stretch myself in the bed. Very smelly and no windows.

Liked: Everything you need in a tiny box with a large bed. No extra charge for guests.

Disliked: Chung King Mansion is notoriously sketchy and there's a fairly high probability you may mugged late at night. But the day time seems alright.

Liked: Hot Water and powerful showerlocation

Disliked: The building, decor and layout - awful The size of the rooms and bed - my boyfriend couldn't fit on the bed and therefore could not lie flat fr 6 nights! Staff are very intimidating Very noisy Lift takes forever

Liked: The room itself was clean and new, and the sheets were changed everyday.

Disliked: The hostel was in a horrible building that had broken windows and smelled disgusting. I didn't feel safe walking/getting the lift to the hostel as there were so many strange people around, exposed wires etc. we would not recommend this to someone travelling alone.

Liked: Location

Disliked: Very unhelpful staff. Greeted by a bunch of angry africans in the hotel that firstly were angry because we wanted to check in too late (even though late check in were mentioned in the booking). Secondly they had no contol of their papers. Finally they ripped us on the exchangerate (for some reason Hostelbookers wrote cost in Chinese Yuan and not HongKong Dollars). I checked rate before paying, but you are in a bad position as a guest since they charge you regardless). Finally on the last day I got money back after threatening to involve the police. Avoid all hostels in Chungking Mansions and select something safer and nicer!

Liked: The staff are very helpful, there is a big fridge to put your stuff in, it is centrally located with lots of yummy curries downstairs as well as money exchange counters. The metro is around the corner.

Liked: Firstly we didn't even stay in the hostel we booked, we were put in a different one called Carlton (both hostels share the same reception). The building (Chungking Mansions) is a labyrinth of guesthouses so we didn't think it unusual. The pictures provided were nothing like the place we stayed at. It also advertises itself as having numerous facilities we didn't have access to e.g. games room, lounge area, washing machines, bar and internet. The night staff kept us awake all night talking and playing music. They were also unhelpful and became aggressive in an argument they were having with other guests. I would advise anyone going to Hong Kong to avoid any accommodation in Chungking Mansions - pay the extra and get somewhere remotely decent.

Liked: Chungking Mansion has its charm, and it is located in the central parts of Kowloon, however the charm consists of it being an anachronistic redundant building in the middle of a big city...

Liked: The room was small but had everything I needed. Very close to the main tourist area.Its based in the ChunKing mansion which has indians everywhere trying to sell you stuff.Their is hot water and a fridge in the kitchen.

Liked: Hong Kong everything was was expensive but this one was great becasue it's cheap.Since it's cheap,and I have never expect here canbe like this Clean and New.Many Backpackers stay here and with Internet Access.Cozy and Friendly staff make us like we are in home.Thank You very much.And we will recommend friend to Block C,Floor 15,Chung King Mansion and don't trust the chinese and Indian touts in the ground floor.

Liked: Great Hostel running by a chinese young boy Joe and Kelvin,and group of foreign staff.Place was small but I think this is typical HK,and this hostel was neat and even new and cheap among the same standard Hostel I have stayed in Chung King Mansion.I have followed thier directions and find Block C at the last of the building and then enter Floor 15,really,there are too many touts claiming they are the staff,manager or security of the building or hostel,they are all cheaters.Beware those Indian and Chinese in the Ground Floor will bring you to different place.If there are no such people,I think the safety will look great.

Liked: Nice located hostel, but the rest was not so good. No sheets, filthy pillows and very unhelpful and unfriendly staff. We ordered a double but got a twin, without explanation or discount. Overall unsatisfactory!!

Liked: With many Backpackers stay here,I feel glad becasue I can chat with them easily.place are small but clean enough and a small common area,good locations.Recommend England Premier Backpackers Inn,But need to take care there are some similiar name close to this Hostel,remember not being cheated by some touts in ground floor and this hostel is Located in Block C (last Tower),Floor 15.
