Liked: location

Disliked: everything except location. dirty, you can tell sheet and pillow case, etc, are obviouly not changed with every guest, let alone when it is visibly soiled. when key deposit was requested the staff got grumpy as if guest shouldn't remember it.

Liked: uncomplicated guesthouse, nice clean 4 person room , have had intetesting conversation, subway next to it you can take the bus from airport to it . chungking mansions was a nice experience!

Disliked: Patrick left no negative feedback.

Liked: The MTR just at the corner next to the guest house. If you want to save some hustles, don't forget their pick up and drop off service, it is so convenient and the price is reasonable compare to the airport transit fare.

Disliked: The whole building is old and dirty, full of annoying Indian fellows promoting their services around. The elevator is too small to support the whole building, you have to queue for long time during peak hours. The room is very dirty. The crew will not clean the room unless you ask them to do so, sometime they will just ignore you, or even if they did, they will just simply tidy up the room but left the floor unclean with all the stains remained. The water heater needs 5 minutes to jump start, and it will not for long, it just allows you for a short shower, otherwise you will get cold. Do not pick the rooms next to the reception, your will not able to sleep at night, all the crews will start chit-chatting loudly at 12am-2am! Remember to collect your keys deposit while you check out, they will not refund to you if you didn't ask.

Liked: rooms are clean..location is very good.. free wi-fi,, free tea and coffee,,, free local telephone ,, if no have laptop provide free desktop computers.. i decided if i come hong kong again i newer stay any other place ,,i sugest to all ... its very for stay .....

Disliked: elevator,s too busy..

Liked: It is close to Tsim Sha Tsui metro station and China Ferry station is abouit a 10minute walk away.

Disliked: The hostel is above a market bizare and plenty of hawkers outside. Rooms are tiny but that is thecase in HongKond but maybe paying a bit more would be worth it. Toilet held togther with string and had to change rooms.

Liked: My booking was transferred to a competitor hostel/partner hostel, due to a over booking at the original purchased hostel(city guesthouse). The partner hostel was in much better condition.

Disliked: Original property was overbooked/ space is tight due to traveler luggage was covering the passageway and corridors.

Liked: The hostel is in a really good location, 10 min walking from Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade . Although you need to remember that the hostel is in Chungking Mansions is not one of the safest places in Hong Kong. I would not recommend this place for a single traveler especially women. The room was really tiny . There was an en-suit bathroom but really small. It was actually a toilet with a shower above it. So if you are looking for cheap accommodation in a good location and do not need luxury it should be fine. The guy at the reception was really nice and friendly.

Disliked: Many Indian people outside the mansion trying to sell you many things.

Liked: Ok, you have to get past the mansion. It's frightening at first, but has GREAT character when you find your way. The place itself is ok. Not a hostel, more of a hotel. The staff are GREAT!. I enjoyed talking to them and asking questions. Make sure the switch outside your room is on to get hot water. Also, when entering mansion, ask elevator guard for D block. He'll point ya.

Disliked: At first the mansion. I was offered a hooker, hash, and coke my first day. There are a lot of seedy characters here, just lower your head and say no thanks. They move on. It's a great culture experience with Indian, Muslim, African, etc food and stuff under one roof. You can spend a day just exploring the mansion.

Liked: Location

Disliked: Service was fair to poor, particularly because it was so non-communicative. The room we were first put in was tiny (which I was prepared for), but when we asked if there was a room with a larger bed, we got a very unfriendly response, basically saying that we had already paid, and there was nothing more they could do. Wireless internet was definitely not available in the hostel, and if there was an "internet cafe" available, they never told us about it.

Liked: The Location was okay.

Disliked: It was the most horrible experience. We didn't get clean sheets, so that we had cockroaches and a lot of bed bugs. And even after we changed the room we still had bed bugs. Don't go there because there might be bed bugs in every room!!! We still suffer from the bites and it is complicated to get rid of them.

Disliked: The building itself is miserable. You can wait around 4-5 minutes for the elevator sometimes. Also, the room is only about 2m by 2m....INCLUDING an ensuite bathroom.

Disliked: Hongkong-style (tiny) rooms, "teasers" in the neighborhood, tiny and slow elevator, noisy computer, lack of coffee cups

Liked: The City Guest House is a newly renovated property and the rooms are very neat and clean. The boss is very helpful and the staff tries its best to make you feel at home. The location is good and is very convenient to commute all over Hong Kong from this place. The Free Wi Fi is excellent. The Towels and the linen quality is of good standard. There is also free laundry service and was very helpful to me. Over it was a real value for money

Liked: The staff is friendly and as far as i saw, all the appliances are working just fine in that guesthouse. The hostel situation is just perfect it's just a bit hard to find it at first. About the cleanliness, the sheet were stained however you can tell that the stains are just hard to erase and not that the sheets aren't washed. It is quite clean for a guesthouse The best point for this guesthouse is the rooms: except the door, you cannot hear your neighbours, good climatisation, hot water (very hot actually), which is "the minimum" but that minimum is not always there in that kind of place.

Disliked: Maybe that is a habit i got from China but i found it expensive but apparently it's all the same in Hong Kong. The appearance of the hostel is just ugly however clean... the hallways are smalls and with dim light and the steels doors make me think about a prison. the place is designed to sleep in but no more.

Liked: this has a very good location, and the staff are helpful and plus you get free internet if you ask.

Disliked: the rooms are very smalls the 4 person room is only really big enough for 1 or 2 at the most and the bests ant very big either, if i was a lone travelling female i might not stop here also as the bellow the hostel is a dodge market with alot of strange men hanging around what i would look out for.
