Is probably one of the better things you can get in the Chungking Mansions. The Hostel is new, so everything is clean and neat. However, get used to long waiting for the lifts of the Chung King. Staff is really friendly.

you can't expect more for that price, but it has best location and also all you need in one place, if you have problems asthma ... just choose a higher class of price

It was very clean and quiet, with private bathroom and air conditioned. The staff was very nice and it was good located.

Very very friendly - we stayed 2 extra nights. We often got given little presents of sweets and fruit left in our room, which was very homely. Considering how scary (but interesting!) Chunking Mansions is - this is a world away. It was very nice, clean, and recently re-decorated.

Perfect situated right next to the Peninsula Hotel and one of the best guesthouses in an absolute shabby whacked-down old building housing approx. 45 different guesthouses and a whole lot of Indian traders, etc. Quite intimidating atmosphere at the elevator and most of the guys running around look like criminals, but unreached cheap prices for HongKong and the staff is really friendly and helfpul! So if you can live with the shabby outward appearance of the building and the small but clean rooms this is a great splurge for HK!

I stayed at this hostel for 3 nights in april 2007. The building is home to many different guesthouses. Ignore the many Indian "salesmen", standing outside the buidling trying to get you to go their hostel and just take the elevator to the 16th floor. The guesthouse ( actually four seasons and hollywood guesthouse are the samen owners..) has very friendly staff. I had a private room , with bathroom that was small but amazingly clean. Clean towels and bedsheets provided every day. The location on the main road of Kowloon is very good and I think it's one of the cheapest places to be. Recommended!

I could not arrive in this hostel on first day cause of trouble.
But staff was waitind for me until midnight.

Not taking into account the rather seedy ground floor of Chung King Mansions, I found Hollywood guest house a fantastic place to stay. The staff were super friendly and you couldn't beat the location. Rooms were tiny (as expected in Hong Kong) but super clean. I would definatly stay there again and I totally recommend this to someone who is looking for good value for money.

Very small windowless rooms, but they are clean & have private bathrooms. Location is great as you are right in the centre of Kowloon, just a few minutes walk from Star Ferries.
