Liked: Locality in Kowloon

Disliked: The manager refused to deduct the 10% deposit that I had paid online from the balance due for the rooms. He said that the deposit was just a booking fee that is paid to hostelbookers and does not actually come off the bill for the room. If it hadn't have been chinese new year (so no other rooms available in HK) then I would have walked out. Beware these guys.

Liked: okay for a night stay, the staff know my booking and prepare the room, very easy and fast.

Disliked: I had to pay surcharge of HKD 20, the room very small

Liked: Very good location, next to the MTR so fast connections to all hotspots. Room is not big, but fair enough to sleep there. In the end very good value for the money.

Liked: An amazing value for the price! Clean, comfortable, safe, and well-located in the heart of the action in Hong Kong. I was very surprised to have a private bathroom with a hot shower, local phone, and LCD TV in my room.

Disliked: For the Chungking Mansion itself, sometimes you have to wait 10 minutes or more for the elevator. But that is no fault of the Hollywood Guest House, except that it's located on the 14th floor.

Liked: It`s well located.

Disliked: In the website they say we can pay by card, but they don`t say that there`s a charge to pay by card and that they hate that you ask them to pay by card. The toillet flush wash`t working and the toilet ventilation neither. I stood 3 nigths there wich 2 days the wifi wash`t working. It takes 10min. to go up and down cause the lift is all the time full and it`s impossible do it by stairs cause is in the 8 floor.

Disliked: Don't go! I had bed bugs in my room. I stayed two nights, after the first night I was just surprised about a few small red dots on the sheets that I hadn't seen the evening before but dind't pay too much attention to it. The second morning I actually saw a bug in the bed and a lot more red dots and it became clear to me that the dots were actually blood where the bugs had bitten me. When I went to the reception to check out and complain the owner just said "Yes, I know"... Terrible experience, had to throw away all bags, wash everything and am still not sure whether I still have them somewhere. By the way, in another (better) hotel they told me that many people were fleeing from ChungKing Mansion because of the same problem, so obviously this is not the only guesthouse that has bed bugs.

Liked: The room was ok, we've stayed in much smaller ones. Beds were nice and we even had 2 windows. Location is good and the building itself wasn't as bad as we would have thought after reading other reviews.

Disliked: The price, but what can you expect in HK?

Disliked: when we arrived to the hotel about 5 pm we had to wait about 20-30 minutes until our room was cleaned and made ready for us to move in.

Liked: Good location, cheap guesthouse.

Disliked: Don't expect service for your money. If you arrive early (9.30 am) the staff is still sleeping en won't hear the doorbell. The shower was broken, so I had to hold the shower in my hand while showering. I asked the staff to do something about it. They said they would, but did not do it. Only hot water for 3 minutes.

Disliked: They did not have free room even I had a reservation. They got me other room from another chungking mansion hotel which was quite awfull compared the one that I reserved. So be prepared that they might not have your reservation when you go. I knew where I was going but still.. I arrived very late so didnt have much of choice. Thats why i made the reservation.

Liked: Its location in Kowloon but the building is a disaster waiting to happen. Lots of seedy people outside at night and a very basic room

Liked: The design of the hostel is really new, the hostel is well facilities and the hotel location is excellent close to shopping, restaurant and public transport. we enjoyed our one night stay. Can only recommend it and have already booked again on my next trip to Hong Kong.
