Liked: The boss is very friendly, what you need you can ask him. He will tell you everything he know. The location is good. The room is good. I can say everything is good for a budget stay.

Disliked: The sheets of our bed hadn't been changed from the previous guest, the pipes smelled bad so the whole room stinked. We had to book out a day early and even telling them in good advance they didn't give back the money for the room.

Liked: Staff couldn't have been more enthusiastic and eager to help us make the most of our stay in Hong Kong. The location was good for being in the heart of the city, which is our top priority.

Disliked: The room was a bit cramped and isolated (though this needs to be taken in context, it is a budget hotel in a very cramped and expensive city). It didn't afford a place to relax after a busy day's sight-seeing, but we did sleep well each night. The room was clean, and the laundry was clearly done daily, but it didn't do a lot to bolster China's reputation for effectiveness in this regard, with thin-worn and sometimes stained towels supplied.

Liked: this is the bare minimum required for sleep - very basic facilities with absolutely great staff and awesome location. as all I needed was a place to rest my head at night I have no complaints. The cafe on the street below the hotel is superb :)

Disliked: High price for a (very small) triple room. Adder of 10 % for HostelBookers plus adder of 5 % when paying by credit card (not seen on the website).

Liked: The owner was helpful and the room had all the facilities I needed for a short stay in Hong Kong

Disliked: I didn't meet any other travellers while I was there, the rooms are very self contained and there was no obvious communal area

Liked: The rooms are cleaned every day and the staff is very friendly, helpful and reliable.

Disliked: The price seemed high after having travelled through China, but you also pay for the location on Causeway Bay, which is excellent. Plus, Hong Kong is simply more expensive, so it's justified and worth it.

Liked: Alisan was very cheap & got good reviews compared to most other budget places so I went with it...the staff were incredibly friendly & location really is excellent...but the single room on the 4th floor was just like a cell and as such completely freaked me out. It was teeny tiney with no window and, thx to the humidity, felt very damp and sticky (although there was aircon). I felt like if there was a fire in the huge building I would go undiscovered & definately not make it out alive! HK is a hectic, busy and smelly city & not having somewhere I could relax after the days sightseeing really affected my enjoyment of the city. I actually ended up checking out early ( I was there for 4 nights) and into a 5 start hotel for my last night because I just couldn't cope with the cell any more! If this is the maximum your budget will allow then its a clean, safe place to stay & I would recommend it for those reasons but if you can afford more then I'd say stay for less days in HK and blow the budget on a fancy hotel so you've got somewhere nice to retreat to at the end of the day!!

Liked: The staff was amazing! They were just itching to help us enjoy our experience. They really took the time to give us advice on things to do and places to eat in the area. The room was clean and neat and had a view of the water. They even provided free water bottles and maps.
