Liked: The hostel is overall amazing, it is like you are at camp. Little wooden cabins, which are spacious and offer a very clean bathroom. The owners don't speak any Spanish so it was difficult to ask for things but they are very patient and helpful.The hostel is in El Remate and not Tikal, but our shuttle ride was only about 45 minutes to the ruins. We were there during a festival and because the hostel is wooden you can hear every little noise, so we had a disco playing all night, then fireworks, roosters and dogs going off after...so we didn't get any sleep. But I think if there wasn't a festival it might be quieter apart from the animals.All in all the hostel was a great choice.

Liked: To get there, take a bus to Tikal but ask the driver to drop you off in El Remate (last town before Tikal). The hostel is 10m off the main road with a sign on the corner, roughly opposite the Tikal end of the basketball court. The only cheap way to stay in Tikal itself is with a tent, so this is the next best. Some Spanish will help.

Liked: the hammocks were amazing and it was a quick walk to the beach, tiendas, and much closer to Tikal than Flores (it could be really great if there were simply more people there!)

Liked: Both Cristina and Chloe were great: friendly, helpful and just down to earth people. I felt totally comfortable and relaxed there. Just 30 minutes for shuttle to Tikal. Perfect place to chill out for a few days!

Liked: The manager was very friendly and helped us out when we ran out of cash, giving us information on where they accepted Visa card. he also gave us cash to help us out and then put it through as credit card payment.

Liked: Hostel is located between Flores and Tikal in the town of El Remate. mini buses are easy to catch throughout the day to and fom El Remate. If you´re looking for something a bi tmore quiet and local, this is an ideal place.
