Tinos is famous amongst Greeks for the Church of Panagia Evangelistria and has plenty to see and do. There are about 1000 artistic dovecotes, 50 active villages and Venetian fortifications at the mountain, Exobourgo to see and explore.

No visit to the island is complete without a visit to the Panagia Evangelistria church and its reputedly miraculous icon of Virgin Mary. Tinos is also the center of a yearly pilgrimage that takes place on the date of the Dormition of the Virgin Mary.
