Liked: It was amazingly clean and Chris, the manager was a treat to meet and get to know. The grounds were immaculately manicured- I felt like I was at a resort. The traditional hostel feeling simply doesn't exist there. It's an experience all its own and should I ever be back to Crete, it will be my first stop. Easily the nicest hostel I've ever seen.

Liked: the owner, chris, knows a lot about plakias, and gives you directions for walks to places where know one else goes. lots of fun doing the river walk!

Liked: Cheap breakfast and drinks. There is also access to a library of 4000 books. A great place to come and relax with excellent beaches.

Liked: Interesting change of pace from the hassles of traveling. Gets you away from the ordinary without taking away from gaining from both relaxing and adventurous experiences!

Liked: Very nice place. Guy who runs the place is very nice if a little creepy. But they are very kind and have nice walks etc set up in the area.

Liked: Lovely quiet location - close enough to beach & tavernas, kid friendly (I was with my sons age 10/12). Staff friendly and helpful with useful information about activities/travel in the area.

Liked: This is a great place but not for everyone. The music is the best you'll come across, and the people there are wonderful. This is a good place to meet people, hike and go out for really good food. If you are the type of person who likes to keep to yourself and doesn't like to try new things then it might not be the place for you. All I can say is 'try the raki'

Liked: It is very open and friendly. The river walk is a must experience for everyone staying in Plakias.
