Overall I met lots of pleasant people. Security wasn't very tight, but not a problem with the people I met. Every hostel in Athens says it has good location and this one is decent - closer to the old areas than some and further than others. Look on a map with street names to get an idea of location. This one is about 30 minutes walk to the tourist spots, also close to a subway.

I reccomend this hostel because it's clean and safe and I can say it could be a fun place to meet people from everywhere but pay attention to the reservation procedure, many people (included me) had problems and misunderstandings at the arrival so I suggest that it's better phone the hostel the day before arrive to confirm the reservation and to print all the exchanged emails with the reservation office!! It's a good advice to avoid unpleased surprises!
another suggestion: Athens is very hot in August and sleep in the rooms is very very hard!!! :-)

nothing exceptional, just all-around decent hostel. a bit big, feels anonymous. not like the little hostels where you meet lots of interesting people.

It's not in the best area (picturesque wise), but its easy to get to from the airport and the metro is literally 2 minutes walk away to Syntagma Square and the Plaka. Overall i would definately recommend this hostel and the walking tour it offers.

The location was good providing you arrived during the day! I thought that the street was a bit dark and dismal at night. I wouldn't have walked along it alone. Despite this the price was hard to beat and I was only there for one night so I can't offer much of an opinion on the other services.
