Stumble Inn

Stumble Inn is an eco-friendly beach lodge for travellers, volunteers and anyone looking to relax on the beautiful Ghanaian coast.

Managed by a Dutch family, & based just outside Elmina, Stumble Inn is the perfect place to stay if you are travelling, or just want to get away for the weekend.

Accommodation ranges from traditional en-suite beach huts, to double / family rooms, dorm beds, and dedicated camping facilities. Our on-site restaurant serves a range of local and Western dishes

Opened in 2010, Stumble Inn sits on nearly 2 acres of beachfront land. The constant sea breeze ensures that the site is much cooler than inland. It makes the Ghanaian heat bearable!

The site has been developed using traditional building materials and methods, and we have a range of thatched buildings which look totally in place in the surroundings. Our en-suite huts are situated near the beach, with fantastic views, and provide a great standard of accommodation. We also have a thatched building on the ridge overlooking the sea, with a wide veranda and housing the double / family rooms and dormitories.

With a separate kitchen block, dining area, and comfortable seating and relaxing areas by the beach, Stumble Inn is a perfect place to socialise, relax, enjoy the traditional shows put on, and pass the time eating and drinking!

Stumble Inn is managed by a young Dutch family ably supported by a fantastic team of locals. Everyone who works here is dedicated to ensuring you enjoy your stay – and from the feedback we constantly get, the great atmosphere we have is something that makes the place even more special

We have fantastic connections with other lodges and places to stay along the coast, as well as really close links with a local charity so come along and see what we have to offer.

Accommodation Information

En-suite huts, like “rondavels”. Built using timber, clay bricks and thatch, they are traditional, airy and comfortable! The big double beds have frames for the mosquito nets we provide, and our huts are extremely popular so we suggest booking in advance! Two of the huts have open air en-suite bathrooms, and self-composting toilets. Our aim has always been to provide responsible and ethical accommodation – combined with comfort and quality.

Our double and family rooms have shared toilet and shared facilities and benefit from an amazing verandah and gorgeous views of the water. Dormitories are also spacious and we have dedicated camping space and facilities close to the beach.

Location Information

Stumble Inn is located just outside Elmina, in the Central Region. We are around 15 minutes from Cape Coast, and both these places are amongst the most important culturally in Ghana.

We have easy transport links to local tourist attractions (Elmina castle, Cape Coast, Kakum National Park) and are just a few minutes from the main road between Accra and Takoradi. We are lucky enough to be situated on an exclusive stretch of beach – close to the city, but in a very quiet and relaxed location, between two resorts.

Our location is ideal for those coming from Accra (easy to travel for a weekend), those wanting to stay with us and relax for a few days as well as travellers passing by.
