Liked: A&O is definitely not as bad as all the reviews I've read said it would be. Sure, the beds weren't as new as a luxury hotel and there was a general "run down" feel, it was solid accommodation for cheap. Our bathroom was clean and the floor was generally clean enough to walk without shoes on.If there was something I'd change, I would like the beds to be more thoroughly cleaned in between guest stays. But overall I had a good experience and would recommend this property to my friends.

Liked: I honestly felt like the little bit of money I saved by staying here was not at all worth the additional hassle of getting to and from the hostel. Additionally, the pillows and provided duvet were pretty sub-par--my duvet appeared to be the kind you get from IKEA for some 4€, which lacks even proper fabric. I ended up just using the sheet, as the room was plenty warm.

Liked: Cheap and clean. Staff not very friendly or helpful. Its too big to have much of a personal touch. A good option if you want a cheap place with few facilities.

Liked: Staff were great; very helpful and gave honest opinions about where to go in the city, etc. 4 of us stayed in a 6 bed suite where 1 other girl was staying too, and it was great. Good room, clean bathroom. No complaints. Directions to A&O could be better from the HostelBookers website. It's easier to get the S-Bahn from the Hauptbahnhof to Marsstraße.

Liked: The lobby of this hostel is just too busy. Besides the room, no other places you can sit or relax. However the room has ensuite so still consider convenient.
