Liked: The location is pretty good.

Disliked: This Meininger is a greedy company. The prices of everything are insulting. I have paid 45 euros for a 6 beds dorm without breakfast , towel, anything. They say that the prices changes daily like in a "air-company". But I say, they are not an air company to multiply the price by 3 only because there are few available rooms in the city. It is only bad faith, take advantageous of the people for maximizing their profit, giving nothing in exchange. It goes completely against the "backpacker spirit". I have been in more than 100 hostels around at least 15 countries in world, and I know what I am speaking when I say that this place is too "artificial" and "cold". It can not be defined as HOSTEL but as a under-average 3 stars Hotel.

Liked: Separate shower and toilet in the dorm. Clean room.

Disliked: Location is opposite to centre of the city from the railway station (>10 min walk)

Liked: Good location to get into the city and opposite a good Brewery/Pub

Disliked: Main area smelt a bit with lots of people and wet shoes etc.

Liked: Location was good, close enough to the main train station and with supermarkets nearby.

Disliked: I've stayed in several Meininger Hostels and they are usually really good, but this one doesn't live up to the standard. The building is old and only has one small elevator for 3-4 people. The room bathroom was also old and had a wooden ceiling which had mold. The shower faucet in the bathroom was bad and the temperature was always changing, even though I hadn't touch the handle. The staff had a good overall attitude but it seems they lack a bit of training, so that every staff member knows what to do.

Liked: the design, the welcomming, the atmosphere in the lounge/bar

Disliked: The humidity in the basthrooms and that the rooms and bathrooms weren't very clean when we arrived.

Liked: The location was good - a 10 minute walk from the station and around 15-20 minute walk from the city centre (9EUR taxi from the centre). You can also hire bikes from the hostel which was another handy way to get around. The room was clean and the staff were helpful when ever we had any queries.

Disliked: Very little - I have stayed in several hostels but this was by far the best value for money.

Liked: Not far from the train station. The room is clean. And the receptionists are helpful.

Disliked: Everyone in our room is from Asia. I'm not sure whether the hostel did it on purpose to make us feel more comfortable. I don't see the point. And there's less chance for us to meet ppl from different cultural background.

Liked: It was right on the main strip through town. I could just walk along the road in front of the hostel straight to the heart of the city.

Disliked: It smells strongly of beer sometimes since it's right across from a brewery. This could be a good or bad thing. Some people thought it smelled really nice.

Disliked: atmosphere, alot of school children, older travelers, showers having to press for 30seconds of water. (having to pay extra for facilites) kitchen very dirty not enough suplies to clean / cook with

Liked: The bathrooms were directly adjoined to the dorm rooms. With a private shower and bath to share with every group of 4 people in the dorm.

Disliked: It did not have very much original character and the staff were not very welcoming

Liked: Location wasn't far from center, however it was across the road from a dog food factory. Stank. Free Wi-Fi in lobby was good.

Disliked: When we first arrived the rooms smelt like somebody had urinated all over the place. A door to the outside rooftops/street was wide open and had no lock and our 'clean' linen was covered in hairs. The bathroom was dirty and had an air vent absolutely covered with dust, possibly why it couldn't remove the TERRIBLE smell. We were told the rooms were cleaned 'every day' and handed some freshener but saw no eveidence of them ever being cleaned. The lockers wouldn't lock, and in the event that they had i would have fancied my grandma to be able to force them open. As a result we carried our valuables around Munich all day every day in the rain. Breakfast was ABSOLUTELY NOT worth the 4.50, we by no means expected a lot, but in our experiences of hostels its the worst value for money breakfast we've ever had. Literally, some bread and limited choice of cereal. Do not be fooled into thinking 'it'll do for 15 Euros' because it won't. The worst hostel we've ever stayed in.

Liked: The rooms were spacious...it was right across the street from the Augustiner Beer Hall...it had pretty much everything one needs...soul recommend it.

Disliked: The laundry didn't work and there was no indication of it ever being fixed.

Liked: The location is very good, and it is easy to reach the centre of Munich without trouble either by U bahn or tram. The location over the road of Munich's 2nd most famous Beer House Augustinianum is the best bonus of all.

Disliked: It was very noisy - the slamming of doors by unconsiderate kids/students went on throughout the day. Where were their supervisors/teachers? The room was badly designed in that only one bed had a reading light, and the TV couldn't be seen from the other bed. For the price we were paying I think that at least a light over the second bed could have been provided.

Liked: Has an elevator, good wifi (although only in lobby), certainly alot of people around so plenty of opportunity to meet people. The breakfast is basic but probably worth the 4 euro unless you are organised enough to get to the supermarket to buy your own cereal and toast. Keycard access and is very close to the bus station.

Disliked: The dorm room was tiny, we couldn't even fit all of our bags in it. The lockers are 'highschool' style, so good if you want to hang something up, but you can't fit a large backpack in one. The shower/ bathroom was pretty average and you will definitely need earplugs here as there are doors slamming/ people partying all night.

Liked: location - they are right next to an awesome beerhall

Disliked: they charge for everthing - the facilities are there but be prepared for charges. the internet is charged at an unfair rate - €1 for 20 mins: Although the directions are correct, it is alot more than 800m from the train station

Liked: Nice place, huge lobby to meet and chat with fellow travellers. Comfortable rooms. Great place tostay if you're attending oktoberfest due to proximity.

Disliked: wifi was really slow BUT free which is rare is hostels. The location is kinda far from the city if your the type of traveller who likes to walk to discover the city but theres access to the s-bahn near by.
