 Although far from 'Modern,' this hotel fit my needs perfectly. One, it is in a great location (around the corner from the main trainstation, and walking distance from Marienplatz). Some people mention in their reviews that its surrounded by strip clubs. I was worried the place would seem seedy/trashy but really this was irrelevant and ignorable. It felt like a safe area and the 'noise' a couple of reviewers mentioned was also exaggerated in my opinion.
The rooms themselves were small but comfortable, and had everything I needed (and i would say, they are fit for a person who wants the comfort and privacy u dont get at hostels but who isnt looking for a beautiful, decked out room--after all youre there for site-seeing. For this, it was great). Some things in the room seemed tattered and old, but again, no biggie. I was in a double room with twin beds. The room had a tv, mini mini fridge, wardrobe, hairdryer. Pretty basic. But no remote!
Speaking of basic, the breakfast is ok, a buffet style meal (cereal, fruit, yogurt, eggs, juice, coffee, bread, meats and cheese). Nothing special but for my budget, i was glad to have it included.
The people there are also very friendly and helpful if u've got turisty questions ;-) My only real criticism is that I did find it strange that the keys are left at the lobby- wasnt 100% comfortable with that.

Location and general cleanliness were quite acceptable. Younger people may find it a more accepable place for fun times and partying.

Location. Bathroom was clean. Carpets had stains, not the cleaniest. Anyone could have come in and asked for a room key and the receptionist would easily hand it over.

It was clean, they do change the linens and towels every morning, and I was warm at night. It's right next to the train station, which is great, and a very short walk to marienplatz. It IS in a bit of a dodgy location--tons of strip clubs, one right next door, (and lots of kebab places!), but I never felt like the area was unsafe. There is someone manning the door 24 hours a day. What is strange is that you leave your key there when you leave the building, but all we had to do for some doormen that hadn't seen us yet was tell them the number to receive it--that made me nervous. However, they do provide a security box in the room, and nothing was ever stolen, so the system worked fine for us!

The included breakfast was good. The bathroom in our room was nice enough and spacious, but the room itself was disgusting to say the least: stains all over everything, lots of dust and broken lights. There were lots of strip clubs around and casinos, not the nicest part of town, but no one bothered us. You could also hear everytime someone opened or shut a door. Very stuffy, we couldn't breathe without the window opened.
