Lotte - The Backpackers

In the heart of the Old Town Heidelberg you´ll have an unforgettable stay in an original baroque house at the foot of the castle.

Lotte is a unique old house. It is situated in the heart of old-town Heidelberg and is very close to the historic castle.

This homely house offers eight guestrooms only, each with a stylistic individual interior decor and with an ambiance of "living-room" coziness of a family home.

On the first floor of this lovely old house we offer you newly renovated and refurbished dormitory-style accommodation. One dorm is for girls only - they also have their own bathroom close by. Use our new grandma-style kitchen or the cosy living-room.

On the second floor you are welcome to choose from two beautifully appointed double-rooms (60s-style) and a family-room. Two bathrooms and a kitchen are for those guests only.

Lotte is conveniently located and is close to many of Heidelberg's points of interests, be they entertaiment, shopping or scenic.

Accommodation Information

Lotte has four dorm types available - 3 beds, 4 beds, 6 beds and 8 beds. A total of 28 people can sleep.
Dorms come with security lockers and reading lights. There´s a central bathroom with 24hr hot showers, a fully equipped kitchen and lounge.

Also we offer two doubles (each with a double bed). Those rooms share two small bathrooms and a kitchen.

Bed sheets are provided.

Lotte is located in the oldest part of Heidelberg, very close to restaurants, many bars, popular sights and the main shopping street. We are 2 minutes’ walk from the Old Bridge and 1 minute only to the Hauptstrasse.

Guests of the private rooms are having a lovely view of the historic castle when having breakfast. The walkway up to the castle starts right behind the house, just a few metres uphill.

If you like hiking take the funicular railway up to the Koenigstuhl mountain, where you can take long or short tours with fantastic views or walk along Philosophenweg located at the slope of Heiligenberg just on the other side of the Neckar river.

From the main station it takes only 15 minutes by bus to get to us. It stops directly in front of Lotte. A parking deck is situated opposite the house.
