Liked: Nice place. I'd recommend it to friends who are travelling, not so much couples. The hotel offers a "double room" on the hostelbookers website, which we booked. Upon arrival, we had a "twin room" - two single beds - and when I asked about it I was told that they didn't have double beds in the hotel, just singles. They should list this as a twin room. The kitchen and laundry facilities are excellent. It has the features of a good hotel - a bar (which is surprisingly GREAT value), lounge, dining hall - all of which are clean and fresh. I just wish that smoking was banned inside in Germany as it did smell of cigarette smoke, particularly in the bar, as did I by the time that I left.

Liked: Good atmosphere, location not all that central really but it was easy to get public transport anywhere if we needed to. Nice staff and clean and comfortable rooms!

Liked: This was the third time I've stayed in the Meininger Cologne, and the fifth time I've been to a Meininger overall. As good as ever! Still can't get over how good the breakfast deal is. As much as you want to eat and drink for €4. Will be back whenever I'm back in Cologne.

Liked: Exellent staff and supervisor. A few things are not completely sorted (fee for towels or not?). Very beautiful bar atmosphere with reasonable prices. Killer Breakfast for 4 €. Showers impossible to set temperature like in so many places. Internet only in the Bar, not in the rooms. Good beds and colchones. Köln is a beautiful place with some of the nicest people in Germany, def. recommended !

Liked: Friendly, efficiently run hostel. The hostel is located in an area with many restaurants, pubs and clubs. The city center can be easily reached by tram/metro or on foot.

Liked: The hostel is very steril, but it if you want a safe and clean place to stay, you will like it. The center is within walking distance.

Liked: The guy at reception was very helpful and very kind. They had a bar that just looked great, although we did not have the time to stop by there. As well the offered a lot of facilities and services such a s fantastic pasta offer, free WIFI at reception area, free towels(5 € Deposit) and they even call a Taxi for you.I really really recommend it !!!

Liked: Pros: very clean kitchen, rooms and bathrooms. Free pasta and cheap pasta sauce. Great lounge area with foosball, bar and dining area for breakfast. The walls are fuzzy and the staff were great. Laundry is available for 5 euro. We met some fellow and very amiable cooks in the kitchen. Not very close to the center but it was in a quiet, safe neighborhood with several cafes, pubs and restaurants within walking distance. One of the best hostels I have stayed at!Cons: Wifi and internet were supposed to be available but were down. Though I didn't see the breakfast menu, I can't tell if it was worth the 4 euro but it sure isn't free.

Liked: Its semi close to the city centre - the trams are great to get around! The rooms were not that nice..but ok. The bathrooms were horrible..be warned. The smell is quite bad at times! Though the bar is cool to hang out in & meet ppl! The staff were helpful all but one grumpy lady. She didnt seem to like anyone! lol. But cologne is a beautiful city! Enjoy!!
