Liked: Overall this hostel had an excellent location minutes from the train station and Cologne's famous cathedral. Right in the heart of the tourist zone. Free internet computer's in the main lounge a great plus.

Disliked: Shared bathroom facilities on the 2nd Floor, although new and clean, were not great. We stayed three nights, and had hot water from the shower on one morning, no water at all the next morning, and a dribble of water pressure on the next morning. Wi-Fi does not work in the rooms, although you can detect neighbourhood signals. Breakfast is charged by component charges, and is not really good value for money. Cheaper to go to Kamps Bakerydown the road.

Liked: Very friendly advice and tourist information on christmas markets and things to do. Baggage can be stored in basement after checkout with a locked box big enough for a case and 2 rucksacks...brilliant :) Hot water 24 hours and heating on 24 hours if you want it :) Breakfast on pay as you go basis and free internet and also wifi :) Brilliant location...round the corner from station less than 3 minutes and walking distance to all markets and harbour etc :)

Disliked: maybe a little bleach in the toilet as a little grubby inside but other than that ...perfect :)

Liked: -helpful staff and very friendly cleaning staff -awesome location (literally close to everything) -access to internet is great (3 computer stations for use in the lobby or use free wi-fi), -room is nice -locker rental (5 euro refundable deposit) is great and helps you not carry around too many things while you travel around in the city -free use of kitchen and utensils -smoking and non-smoking lounge area

Disliked: -smoking in the building - room got very cold at night

Liked: the staff help to carry the luggage to my room which located in 1st floor from ground floor lobby .location very near train station and the church.

Disliked: i stay in their suite room but the room and even the hostel is not clean, very dark which make you very uncomfortable and not secure to stay in hostel. the way to hostel very dark in the night due to lack of lamp post in the street.

Liked: Very easy from station, big rooms

Disliked: Toilets under construction, so not many on our floor, but should be good when work is done as they smelled, smoking room inside filtered to the bar as well, so the kitchen and eating area is the only smoke free common area in the evening

Liked: The location was extremely convenient. Only a few minutes walk from the Cathedral, river, station and centre of Cologne.

Disliked: The overall cleanliness was poor. The toilets stank of mould, damp and the Indian restaurant next door. They were also very dirty, on one occassion there was even diarrhea in a urinal for more than a day. At the moment the hostel is renovating its bathrooms and we were not informed of this before booking. Each floor is quite large and due to the renovations we were required to share one toilet for the floor. Moreover the renovations occurred next to our dorm so there were building materials and workers right outside our door all day. There was dust everywhere. The beds and pillows were extremely uncomfortable, which normally would not have been a big issue for us, however given the rest of our experience at the hostel, it iwas the icing on the cake. The internet access was poor and instead of fixing it the staff wrote a friendly message on the blackboard: "tip of the day - don't get addicted to the internet, it's not real".

Liked: Excellent friendly staff on hand to give advice and information about city. Facilities and services were very good and security lockers available for valuables. Rooms were spacious and cleaned daily. Toilet and shower facilities have just been upgraded. Kitchen facilities available for preparing food.Great location for train ,bus station and u bahn.Room rates are good for what is on offer and location. It also had washing machines available for backpackers that have to catch up with laudry requirements. Most enjoyable stay and will book Station Hostel when I next visit Cologne.

Disliked: I have stayed in many hostels in Germany and this hostel provided all the comfort and facilities for a short stay .I could not find any faults that would cause any concern

Liked: Location is very convenient. Some minutes away from main train station. Excellent location and easy to find! Private room is fine, clean private bathroom, even some basic stuff like soap and shower gel were provided. Bedsheets clean.

Disliked: Shared bathrooms on the hallways smelt really bad

Liked: Location was very handy. Staff were very helpful. Facilities were more than adequate. Showers were above average (for hostels). Felt safe and secure even though I was traveling alone. All the other guests were friendly and tried not to let the language/cultural barriers get in the way of civility.

Disliked: ......I found it a bit hard to work a German keyboard while using their FREE internet. That's honestly all I can think of.

Liked: The Central location, friendliness of staff and the general vibe of the property. A nice place to stay indeed! The rooms were clean and the bed sheets changed daily which was also good!

Disliked: I stayed on the 4th floor, which did smell a bit. As you came in, you could smell the toilets a mile off, and then the lockers smelled of sick and rotten feet! I was told that the smells were an ongoing problem that is currently being resolved so don't let this put you off. One more thing which was a disappointment, which was no fault of the hostels, was that me and my girlfriend were put into a room where our roommates weren't very chatty! We were hoping for more partying types! Oh well, always next time!

Liked: very close to Dom Cathedral just 10-8 minutes walk. Free internet and map. very close to penny market and other shops.

Disliked: kitchen bins were not cleaned. wc has some weired smell.

Liked: I really like it! Everything was great - the staff, the rooms, the bathrooms. The location was perfect. We were walking to everywhere and it's like 5 minutes from the main train station. If i ever go to Cologne again, I'm staying in that place.

Liked: Four bed dorm with bathroom was very spacious and had nice big windows. Good shower pressure. Very safe, loads of lockers in hallways and in luggage room. Excellent location, close to train station - hence the name!!
