Liked: Good location (nice bars and shops around, only four stops to the center), staff is very nice, bathrooms are spacious and everything is super-clean. The rooms are big, the beds confertable (bunk beds even have a little barrier in order to not fall out of the bed), windows are huge so a lot of light can come in. A lot of comments here complain about the breakfast. The breakfast was fine! Toast, black bread, cereals, a lot of jams, honey, nutella...Only doing the coffee was a little complicated.

Disliked: There's really nothing which really disturbed me.

Liked: The hostel rooms were big and spacious, though we were lucky in that we were the only guests in a 8 bed dorm (it was the 27th Dec). It was clean and had all the aspects you would expect from a back packpackers hostel.

Liked: The staff were knowledgable & Welcoming! The room was nicely decorated & the common area aswell - good warm atmosphere. All th facilities needed & the showers were nice & big! All in all I would def recommend others this hostel!

Disliked: Just the location to the main square/old town (could be a little closer) but then it's very close to a popular clubbing/going out area.

Liked: Good basic facilities. Rooms spacious and clean. Convenient for city centre. Liked the themed rooms. Comfortable beds. Good kitchen. Availability of car parking.

Disliked: Showerheads damaged. Noise from adjacent rooms.

Liked: great hostel - cosy, spacious rooms, clean bathrooms, free breakfast, can walk to Cathedral, main shopping areas and river etc, right next to metro stop, quiet at night, very convenient for exploring the Christmas markets!

Liked: Bed was okay

Disliked: Having to hold the shower head in one hand - almost impossible to wash you hair as you only have one hand free at anytime. Only had a hook to hang a couple of items off the floor in shower would really be better to have a extra hook and a shelf to sit your toiletries on so that don't get wet from the shower.

Liked: The rooms were really clean, and to wash laundry is really inexpensive in comparison to other places. The idea themes for each room was very clever and made the place very cozy. They also recycle and the staff was VERY helpful with my travels and finding things to do in Cologne. Thank you for a very nice stay.

Disliked: There was no wireless, freezer, or a microwave.

Liked: Location is perfect, about as central as you'll want to get in Cologne without breaking the bank. Themed rooms were a nice twist. Common room was simple but welcoming. I really liked the general atmosphere among the visitors, the staff were IMO rather invisible (but not hard to reach if needed!). Rooms were, as far as I experienced, all quite modern and spacious. While the lockers provided will keep your valuables safe, they are too small to store all your luggage (think airline hand-luggage sized lockers). The bunk beds were solid, and even with my 110kg I never felt like I might unwillingly crush the person in the bottom bunk during the night.. They are quite sensitive to movement though, so if you're a twister, the other person will get twisted as well, or vice versa.

Disliked: Breakfast was a little on the basic side, I would not have paid for me, but as it's part of the base rate I don't know how much the breakfast is 'worth'. You'd be perfectly free to add any personal preferences to it anyhow, so I'm not overly complaining about it either. Like others have mentioned, you should be aware that all the rooms are close to a rather noisy intersection and multiple tram lines. If you are sensitive to noise, you should buy earplugs in the reception. The room closest to the smoking area, the Circus room, will either suffer closed windows or smoke in the room with certain wind directions. No wireless internet, if that still counts as a negative point when everyone has a smartphone and can pick up a national sim-card with prepaid data plans rather easily anyway.

Liked: It was cheap and cost. The location was great for nightlife and public transport.

Disliked: There was a lot of street noise because it's right on a busy corner. Not fun when you're trying to sleep. Also, they definitely need WIFI Internet. There's only one computer there, and there's often a line.

Liked: The rooms were themed which was very cool. The staff were friendly and helpful and the bathroom facilities were really good.

Disliked: we were on the 'loud' side of the property (although the staff did pre warn us and offer us earplugs) right near the s bahn and lots of businesses

Liked: Clean, friendly staff, good location (only 10 or so minutes from the centre of Cologne). It was great.

Disliked: Nothing. I expected hostel accomodation and was pleasantly surprised by the warmth of the staff.

Liked: Awesome place to meet friendly and fun people from all over! Really super clean, big and spacious. Friendly staff! Free pasta! and free dinner cooked on Thursdays!

Disliked: No wifi! Only one computer in the common room with internet ... really a bottleneck Neither is the McDs downstairs convienent for net access. You need a German mobile number to receive the SMS with the access code! Breakfast could be a little more variety!
