Liked: Very clean, well-equipped and pleasant - not too big and anonymous. Very convenient for public transport (U-Bahn) and easy-to-find. The district (Prenzlauer Berg) has lots of character with generous 19th century streets that are a pleasure to explore on foot. Yet close to Alexander Platz and the centre (Mitte) of Berlin.

Liked: was extramly clean and the staff were very kind and helpful, they also had a coffee maker with lates for 50 cents awesum, great location too, close to centre

Liked: Extremely clean, new-looking property, great location, comfy beds, very helpful and friendly staff with great knowledge of where to eat/what to see in the area

Disliked: Not for solo travellers if looking to meet people- stayed there over the weekend and didnt find many people hanging out in the common room

Liked: great facilities - well equiped kitchen, rooms and bathrooms hotel quality. Very friendly staff willing to offer advice.

Disliked: No lift - with room on the fourth floor carrying baggage was bit of a mission.

Liked: Felt really at home here, the place had a nice laid-back vibe. The lovely receptionist helped me work out which train/bus connection I needed to get to the airport to catch my ridiculously early flight -- very much appreciated!

Disliked: Was a little noisy at night with people coming and going, but I guess that's to be expected in a dorm.

Liked: nice common rooms, large kitchen, friendly and helpful staff, cosy athmosphere, beautiful rooms and walking distance to main sites.

Disliked: hard to make out a real flaw

Liked: Nice and clean, very nice front desk staff, very good value and pretty good location - the neighbourhood is great - walking distance to eats, drinks, half block from metro.

Disliked: Street noise (if your room faces the street) can be very bad at night - so ask for room facing the garden at back. The washrooms are small and not quite enough of them for the morning rush. Lockers could be bigger.

Liked: Very clean, brilliant hot showers. friendly staff and good recommendations for things to do in the city. Brewers Walking Tours of Berlin were brilliant, well worth taking part in.

Liked: I'm a complete novice in terms of hostels and just thought I'd try my luck with the EastSeven, however it was fantastic. It was warm and friendly, with a mixture of people from all different nations to talk to. The experience wasn't overly orientated to the encouragement of group exercises which was great for me as I like to explore alone, however there were tours / pub crawls advertised within the hostel, 'tho not run directly by them. Incidentally, I would recommend the 'Alternative Pub Tour'... I met some great people and visited some excellent bars. That said, (as a novice hosteler) I was left perplexed as to why people in my shared room thought it was an OK-thing-to-do to come back from partying at 5am and hold a full volume, prolonged discussion in the room like it's midday, like nobody would mind!!? I just don't get it...but then like I said I'm new to the hostel-game.The hostel was, importantly for me, very clean. The shared bathroom was modern, with hot water any desired time of the day. The communal lounge area is a little bland but then that's partly to do with the building inherited by EastSeven and also the that fact that one should be outside or at the bar!! The kitchen is exceptional: they have everything you need to cook dinner, with a large table, large range, glasses, plates, pots, large fridge etc. I enjoyed sitting in the kitchen with a superb German beer and a book - all good.The location for me was perfect - the area it's located has some hidden gems where small, independent cafes and bars are concerned. The staff are laid back but exceptionally helpful. If I were to come back to Berlin and require the use of a hostel, this one would be it!

Liked: Great location and very clean.

Disliked: I did NOT like their safety policy. I had the great misfortune of staying my first two nights here with an obnoxious English trio. I could deal with their drunken behavior when they were actually booked in the hostel. BUT, the hostel gets terrible marks for allowing these kids back in to party in the hostel after they checked out. Change the code more often and tell the front desk staff not to let kids back who have checked out...

Liked: Really great hostel. So clean and really great quality stuff! Friendly staff really helped me out when I arrived early. I would definately come back here next time I come to Berlin.

Liked: Location and coffee was good. Kitchen was great too. The staff were nice on the whole.

Disliked: They charge for internet. Also, one of the staff was a bit miserable and you felt like you were disturbing him when you asked something. The female staff were all nice.

Liked: I liked the size of the rooms and the cleanliness. I also enjoyed the tours that they offered. The staff were really friendly and helpfull.

Disliked: Our first night there we were tired and went to bed around 10. Our room was quite close to the front desk and it was really loud until about 1 AM. That only happened the first night though and it was great after that.
