Liked: We stayed in 3 hostels in Berlin, and this was definitely my favourite. We got lost trying to find it in the pouring rain, but when we finally got there (got good directions from staff over the phone) found we'd been upgraded to the main (more expensive) boat as no-one else was in the cheaper one (off-season...), and the lovely friendly woman at reception also waived our linen fee to ease our cold bedraggled misery - nice! we had to change room as the heating wasn't working in ours, but otherwise - no complaints. lovely and warm room, comfy bed, BRILLIANT river-side windows with a great view of the river spree and the beautiful old overbrucke bridge (not to mention some weird street art...) didnt try breakfast but looked great. free baggage storage, wi-fi, maps etc. unbeatsable location. a port-side room wouldnt have been so great, but still, you'd see the berlin wall... as we were upgraded i can't say what our expereince would have been like in the cheaper boat we actually booked ('western comfort') but i'd assume it would also have been good. oh, also there was a room door lock and a boat entrance door lock so it felt quite secure. NB: google maps doesnt locate the boat accurately - we got lost using it. it's right by the EAST END of thAT berlin wall section, NOT the west. behind a gap in the wall. the nearest station is warschauer strasse.

Disliked: the heating in the 1st room we booked was broken - but we changed rooms so this wasn't really a problem.

Liked: friendly staff, great location by the berlin wall, busy part of town but its nice and quiet being on the water.

Disliked: could do with a bit of a lick of paint :)

Liked: The location was good. One side you look out onto the Wall and the other onto the river. Although, we were on the wall side, it was still novel to have that view.

Disliked: Unfortunately, our room was beneath the galley where they prepare breakfast so from about 6 onwards it was quite noisy. The rooms definitely are overdue an upgrade. It not, a price reduction.

Liked: A nice place to stay in Berlin, on the river Spree near the Wall exhibition, a warmfull athmosphere, and a peacefull location to have a rest after discovering the city.

Liked: The staff were very helpful, the location was great for getting around the city easily, staying on the boat was an excellent change from being in a building.

Liked: There is a bar with plenty of events on, get to meet a lot of people

Disliked: The boat does sway... makes a hangover twice as bad and people who get sea sick will not be happy

Liked: - It is located just in front of a last standing bit of the wall - It has a lot of character, sleeping on a boat is really nice - The staff was really helpful - It was a really great way to start our travel

Disliked: - We were suppose to be staying on the Eastern, as said on hostelbookers, but the room was booked on the Western. That wasn't much of a problem because the Western was just on the same coast as the Eastern because of reperation on the West coast. - The breakfast doesn't really worth it (so just have breakfast somewhere else!)

Liked: It was a boat! It was a nice, fun place to stay. The staff were amazingly friendly and helpful. Nothing but a good experience. Will definitely stay there again.

Disliked: Nothing stands out. It was all good.

Disliked: The showers were dodgy, and at the other end of the boat. Some toilets in the lower deck of the boat would be good

Liked: the room was terrible. Extremely small and smelly. You couldn't even move. one toilet for the whole boat. I couldn't wait to leave the place. worst value 4 money. It also shakes a lot..I wouldn't recommend it for no reason.

Liked: perfect location, 5 minutes by walk from the nearest metro station.the VERY little rooms becames VERY hot by night, and the bathroom isn't so clean...however, if you've only to sleep, it's ok. but bring with you a fan.

Liked: overall I enjoyed this hostel. Breakfast is a bit chaotic at peak breakfast time due to the tight space around the buffet. Our room's shower curtain did a poor job of keeping water in the shower and the floor slanted away from the drain making for an all-day wet bathroom floor. The staff were very helpful but friendliness is something to be worked on. The woman were nice enough once they discovered we speak their native tongue....

Liked: Beautiful place on the river Spree, surrounded by mallards, coots and swans swimming among the blocks of ice that drifted under the bridge. Close to everywhere we wanted to be. Staff really knowledgeable about Berlin, with tip offs and suggestions - friendly and helpful.
