Our cheerful hostel and the guest houses are part of the national heritage Studentendorf Schlachtensee. With its 28 gazebos and flats the houses are situated in southwest Berlin in a green and calm space right near Grunewald Park and Havel Lakes. Within walking distance you may reach Lake Schlachtensee, fashionable beer gardens and parks.

Berlin's legendary Campus:
Berlin's Studentendorf Schlachtensee is a legend. Founded in 1957 by the government of the US as a unique memorial it offers unequalled opportunities. Furthermore the Studentendorf is characterised by grand scaled common areas and green spaces.

The campus with its 28 gazebos and flats is situated in southwest Berlin in a green and calm neighbourhood right near Grunewald Park and Havel Lakes. Within walking distance you may reach Lake Schlachtensee, fashionable beer gardens and parks.

Our inhabitants come from all over the world and frame a society of students living up to the motto "sharing life and education". The rental office is run by the association Studentendorf Schlachtensee stemming from a student’s initiative.

The association bought the campus in 2003 and plans its refurbishment little by little. In 2005 the operation of the guesthouses has started. One year later the Studentendorf was awarded with the special cultural status of a national heritage. Since then several of the flats reopened after a restoration complying with regulations for historical monuments.
