Liked: The location turned out to be a pretty cool area- lots of street art and really nice but affordable restaurants, as well as some quirky shops. Its also got a 24hr nightshop just nextdoor and really close to the metro. The hostel itself is homely, I really liked the communal areas like the livingroom with all the bean bags and the big projector for watching movies. It has everything you need- free Internet, clean beds, hot showers etc.

Disliked: when my boyfriend and I arrived we actually thought we had been scammed and the hostel didnt exist because the door looks like the entrance to a squat! There's graffiti all over it and the only sign telling you that there's a hostel inside is a tiny buzzer to the right (like you have for an apartment). But once you get in and go upstairs to aloha it's fine so don't worry!

Liked: It´s a real hoStel, where you can feel in home! You can make your food, free and good internet, no comercial maps and information, no drinks to sell. You can meet people at the kitchen or room, drinking a beer or a tea (there is free frezeer for your beers and foods). The bathrooms are big, like the roons. The only thing you have to pay, if you want, is the locker, but I didn´t feel I needed.

Disliked: My room was noisy and with much clarity.

Liked: Great character and staff. I loved the atmosphere here and they seemed to be very social. I wasn't feeling great while there so I didn't want to do any partying but it seemed like you could meet people there and make it happen if you wanted.

Disliked: nothing really. I guess the building is old and looks bad but I think that just adds to the charm. Also if people are being loud in the hostel you can hear them in the rooms easily. So if they party you can't sleep. But if you can you should be partying with them!

Liked: This hostel is abosolutely great. As of yet i have not been to a better hostel like it. In fact, it's better than the few hotels i've been to in Europe! Unless you're an extremely fussy travellor (in which case you should be in a top hotel, not in a hostel), then you can't go wrong staying at Aloha Berlin!

Disliked: The fact that didn't tell me how good they were!

Liked: Everyone working at the hostel was amazing. They showed us the best routes and to the best sites, arranged tours if you wanted, arranged pub crawls etc. The rooms were clean and the bedsheets very soft. Location was great, close to food and Ubahn. Also easy to walk to many sights.

Liked: Great location, Great staff: Arthur, Simon and Roxanne were some of the nicest and most down to earth people we met on our trip. The city of Berlin is great in itself, but staying at Aloha made our experience that much better, simply the best hostel i have stayed at thus far. Arthur even made pancakes for breakfast one morning and also threw a great party

Disliked: That our schedule would not allow us to stay there longer...

Liked: It was one of the best hostels I have stayed at on my entire trip in Europe. The staff was awesome and made you feel welcome and were always up for hanging out. It had great character and the location was about as good as you could ask for in Berlin. It was always spotless too and they had breakfast for us in the morning!

Disliked: I felt that there could have been a bit more security. Locks on the doors into each individual room or lockers in the rooms. That was my only complaint, otherwise awesome place to stay.

Disliked: Really funny ping-pong table, yeah)) the hostel is safe and all but keys to bedrooms won't do any bad

Liked: Small hostel but with very good and friendly staff people.. It was close to a underground station and to many city´s attractions!

Disliked: As the web site of AlohaHostel says, the entrance and the stairs of the building where the hostel is placed, are very dirty and in not very good conditions because the restructuring of the building.

Liked: had the door room to ourselves. very friendly staff. really great location. great facilities. big but inclusive. had a projector for DVDs and staff made pancakes in the morning.

Disliked: very noisy pub downstairs which is loud at night with windows open. front door of building broken. had to pay for towels.

Liked: I've stayed at plenty of hostels in Europe and this is by far the absolute best hostel I've ever stayed at. Ever heard of the saying don't judge a book by its cover, well this is so true for Aloha, at first glance the property looks shabby at first, but my stay there was epic. It's like one big family and I got to know tons of good people. If you're going to Berlin, you better stay at Aloha.

Disliked: The exterior might look somewhat bad.

Liked: The staff were all super friendly. Clean. Fun. Close to underground and within walking distance to everything really.

Liked: I loved the atmosphere (for example the ability to watch DVDs projected on the wall with your fellow travelers). The bathrooms were good and the beds are comfy. Other pluses include free wifi everywhere and free use of the computers and a very comprehensive free breakfast. I would recommend this place to my friends.

Disliked: After a long day to exploring the city, walking up 3 flights of stairs is less than desirable- the building is slightly sketch but poses no real threat. Also, locks on the bedroom doors would be good to add.

Liked: great atmosphere, staff were full of really interesting information from the history of the building and the city to directing us on really great sightseeing adventures

Disliked: the dark entrance to the building and it wasn't actually advertised on the outside so had a little difficulty finding it first up.

Liked: The staff! When i got there, Arthur came down to carry up my bag then sat me down and explained all about the area with a map. They were always hanging around, ready for a chat. Really nice people. The brightly decorated walls gave a nice atmosphere. The free internet, tea, coffee and biscuits were a nice touch. The little mirrors on the wall were good - you never had to wait your turn, coz there plenty of them.

Disliked: Not so much disliked, just had me concerned when I arrived, walking into a run/down derelict building with graffiti on the inside walls. Was worried what I'd booked for myself, but the hostel is on the 3rd floor and its totally nice.
