Liked: We had a nice,warm, clean room, with tv (only German channels btw - as we're in Germany obviously). Bedside lamp,comfy new beds,loads of counter space and wardrobe which you we could lock. Ensuite was nice and clean too. Good location 5 minutes from S bahn (Ostbanhof) and 25 min walk to Alexanderplatz. The staff were lovely and helpful too.

Disliked: Wifi in our bedroom came and went intermittently but it's always available in reception area if you need it badly. Our shower was a little dangerous as water temperature changed throughout from normal to extremely hot / freezing cold without warning! Ouch.

Liked: The building itself has a cool feel to it, and the free wifi was nice. Facilities were clean and comfortable. It's also pretty close to the metro station, and we met some cool people while we were there.

Disliked: Careful - it says "lockers in room," but this doesn't apply to all of the rooms. If you have something valuable, they'll hold it behind the desk for you. Also, the kitchen is sort of small and dumpy and there were no decent knives. Only butter knives.

Liked: It's a fun atmosphere. It is very easy to find and has good signage!

Disliked: It reminds me a lot of an apartment or 'flat' block. I really like the resto and breakfast option and there are PLENTY of showers and toilets.

Liked: You can discover the east part of the city, see what DDR buildings look like! Big rooms if you are with a group of friends is great. Really nice garden, where chill out and drink a beer.

Disliked: Toilets could be better.

Liked: Free wi-fi, good price, ensuite dorms, nice staff... Served its purpose as a cheap bed for one night...

Disliked: Tiny (outside) kitchen and no decent common space (only had reception area, small computer area or outside in the cold) which I found odd for such a big hostel... Plus the hallways to get to my room had no lights!

Liked: Good value for the money. Close to Ostbahnhof S-bahn and U-bahn. It is POSSIBLE (though far) to walk to both the center of the city (Alexanderplatz, etc. -- 2-3 km) and the bars and nightclubs of Friedrichshain (1-2 km). The building is huge, and there are lots of rooms, so you will probably be able to find a place here. A person from a free (but tips expected) tour of the city will come there and show you how to get to Brandenburger Tor (Brandenburg Gate), from where the tours leave.

Disliked: The floor in our room was dirty and the beds make a lot of noise when you toss and turn. There is nothing to do within a short walking distance (as there is for hostels in Friedrichshain). There is no free breakfast. (They charge, I think, 5,90 € if you want breakfast.) I also didn't see a place to cook or refrigerador. (I could be wrong about that, since I never asked.)

Liked: The rooms were clean and modern, the bathrooms were new with lots of hot water

Disliked: Nothing, the water in the shower did go from hot to boiling on me which was a bit of a shock though.

Liked: THere were photos of old Berlin and free walking tours form the hostel.

Disliked: It was quite noisy, but that is understandable in such a big hostel.

Liked: Really clean and spacious. The staff was friendly and super helpful. The people there was really nice and had a decent kitchen. It was close enough to bars and nightlife and a five minute walk from the East Gallery. Great value for your money.

Liked: Rooms & bathroom were spotless, beds were comfy, staff were very friendly, hostel was safe and secure

Disliked: Nothing really, although there's not much going on around the hostel and you have to go a bit further afield for entertainment. Although the kebab house next door is open 24 hours and the guys in there are good fun!

Liked: Good location, easy walk into town & close to trains including a main station. Near residential area so had an 'authentic local' feel not being in middle of popular city district. Washbasin in our 10bed room was handy.

Disliked: 5 levels with no elevator to assist with heavy bags. Lying in bed the hallways are very noisy just when people walk past, sounds like a herd of elephants. Staff volunteered no information, had to ask many questions about facilities etc.

Liked: garden is stayed confortable and used Free WiFi. Market is opposite of hostel. so you eat meel by cooking yourself.

Disliked: Shower room's corridor was water pool every time. There are so long corridor from entrance to my bedroom. Some time I felt afraid of when it happened disaster.

Liked: the courtyard was nice, and the drinks and food were reasonably priced

Disliked: there were only a few outlets available so charging things was somewhat difficult

Liked: Cheap, nice courtyard if it were used to its potential. Rooms are a decent size.

Disliked: Kitchen was very smelly, stocked about 100 plates but only two pans and no sharp knives for the whole hostel.. Very noisy in the hallways and outisde. Wasn't told that you had to waited until 4pm to check in when I booked so got there at the time I said of 2pm and had to wait.

Disliked: It's to big and at the moment under construction. Woke up at 6.30 by someone tearing a wall down outside my room.
