Liked: Rooms are big and charming; the staff is really helpful and nice.

Disliked: There are no bathrooms in the rooms (although the shared ones are always clean)

Liked: The staff is very friendly, the rooms are big and comfortable, it is safe, there is a cool bar near the reception and it s not noisy, nd a computer lounge where u can meet people or just relax in the big sofa! there are cool free tours with Ben (the best guy from staff) and it s even cheap!!

Disliked: They could ve a kitchen for guess...

Liked: The relaxed atmosphere, very easy to talk also with other guests what I think is caused by the helpfullness and attention of the staff. The house self is very nice, in old style

Liked: the hostel is v. clean, safe and does an excellent breakfast. The facilities are excellent.

Liked: The location is very good. It is near the city centre and the museum Island and just a few stops away from the shopping district and kruzberg, where a lot of cheap and quality food is available. We booked a double en-suite room, and my friend and I think it looks more like a hotel room than a hostel one. The room is pretty big as well, which is beyond my expectation. Free-wifi available, which helps me to find restaurants with delicious cuisine.

Disliked: We don't have room keys, instead, we key in password to enter the hostel and the room. However, the keypad may not work perfectly all the time, and sometimes I have to key in the code a couples of times before getting into my room.

Liked: key system is very good, no keys! no worries about forgetting keys... also the cupboards that we use to store, has lock tools, is nice to have.

Liked: To be frank i paid peanuts for such an awesome place.... The best hostel I've stayed at, trust me I travel a lot.

Liked: Very clean and hotel-like! The building was so beautiful. Bathrooms were very clean and even had blowdryers, a big plus for female travelers.

Liked: i was really impressed with all , i would defiantly recommend anyone to the hostel the best hostel i ever stay

Disliked: there was no kitchen, and one of you stuff was quit e rude to me, maybe you guys should take a second look around before you hire someone ,but everything else was fantastic

Liked: Hostel was very clean - toilets, rooms kept to high standard. Having breakfast ready made a good start to the day. Good situation for tourists. Staff friendly and helpful.

Disliked: School group generated a lot of noise - lots of fun in the corridors all night until 5am ! No trouble , just noise.

Liked: The walls were very sound-proof so we weren`t bothered by any others while trying to sleep. Breakfast was great and we liked that we could choose either the buffet or a menu item depending on our tastes. When we arrived the staff greeted us and got us free coffee and pastries while we checked in and we appreciated such a warm approach.

Disliked: We were on the very top floor which meant lots and lots of stairs to go up and down each time but certainly great exercise. Also as we stayed we found the women`s bathroom started to smell a bit but all bathrooms and showers did appear clean.

Liked: Wow what a place!! The Grand Hostel would put many hotels to shame with its massive dorm rooms, great bar, fantastic staff and the fact it is geared to cater for young travelers. Atmosphere and opportunity to meet fellow travelers is amazing. Already look forward to heading back again. Thanx!!

Liked: The beds were really comfortable and the rooms were nice. It was quiet and the staff very helpful.

Disliked: Nothing to dislike really, just a warning regarding the common showers - they are glass and nowhere to get changed privately with people coming in and out and opening the door.

Liked: Staff very informative, i.e. map, city info and a coffee unpon arrival, as well as info about the hotel in general. Great location, shops, restaurants all nearby within walking distance, as is the transport links.

Disliked: No where in shower to put your clothes, i.e. grab a towell when finished without flashing someone, or somewhere to undress other than in the middle of the room. Shower is sensor operated however I did manage to undress in shower without activating the water! Showers were super clean though.

Liked: Faultless. The staff were terrific, giving me a mini-guide to Berlin and discussing my stay upon arrival, the room was large and uncluttered, the bed comfy and with individual reading lights meant you didn't have to disturb the other sleepers. The breakfast was decent value, the bar was a good place to have a beer at the end of the day. Best hostel I've stayed in.
