Liked: Great Location, clean, helpful staff.

Disliked: Perhaps a bit tighter management of room types and luggage storage would be good.

Liked: The included breakfast was great and so was the location.

Disliked: They did not provide towels because they didn't have clean ones when I needed a towel. There place was too big. It is more of a hotel than a hostel. There were no kitchens which was hard for a budgeted traveler.

Liked: Brilliant location, you can literally walk within ten minutes at the most to Brandenburg gate, Checkpoint Charlie, The Jewish Memorial, The Tiergarten and Unter Den Linden. Also literally on the doorstep of the hostel is the Mohrenstrasse U2 line metro station which links together the city where you can hop on to the heart of the city at Alexanderplatz where you find museum island and the TV Tower or take the line to the zoo, the olympic stadium or the heart of Berlins shopping district. The hostel itself is brillaint, I have stayed here twice and it is perfectly clean with a well priced bar, delicious breakfast included in the price and very helpful staff. I have been all around the world and stayed in hostels in France, Switzerland, Italy, Austria, Poland, Czech Republic, Germany and all over Australia and the CIty Hostel Berlin is my joint favourite with one in Sydney. I would never stay anywhere else in Berlin.

Disliked: Having to leave it and Berlin behind!

Liked: Location was great. Free breakfast. Allowed us to store out luggages before and after check in and out respectively

Disliked: very very noisy at night. The doors keep slamming because there is no mechanism to soften the noise. To make things worse, we had a room next to the lift which had an additional door. Very difficult to sleep especially if you are a light sleeper

Liked: Rooms were large.

Disliked: The showers were weird and not clean. Most people wanted to party so it was not a place to be if you want to be able to sleep. I was happy that I was only staying there for one night.

Liked: They open a bar in the reception at night, serve free breakfast in the morning, staff is knowledgeable about the nightlife, and the location is prime downtown.

Disliked: There were no locks for storing baggage inside the rooms.

Liked: Perfect location, in the center of Berlin, only a few minutes walking to the main attraction of Berlin. U-Baht Station next to the hostel. Very friendly staff, gave us many usefull informations. Delicious breakfast included in price- (that's greate idea!) Good value for money! We will choose Hostel City Berlin during our next trip to Berlin.

Disliked: Maybe fact that it is quite old building, but for us really doesn't metter:)

Liked: perfect location, walking distance to checkpoint charlie and gendarmenmarkt. breakfast is good

Disliked: bathroom and toilet is dirty and smelly. no cubicle in bathroom. no lock for locker, although can rent one with deposit. no personal light in room. the building is former DPRK consulate that is rented, so we are practically giving money to shithead kim jong il

Liked: Great rooms - they don’t try to cram as many beds as they can into a tiny space!

Disliked: It’s too big for persons traveling alone to meet others well. It is great, though, if you are in a medium-sized or large group.

Liked: It was very close to a metro station and the staff at reception was very helpful.

Disliked: It was a bit loud at night and the bathrooms were not too clean. It is also located right next to the North Korean embassy. Surprise!

Liked: Perfect location near all important sights. The room was good and very clean, just take your own padlock. The breakfast was delicious, you can choose from various kinds of food and drinks. The price is cheap and includes free wi-fi (with your own notebook), breakfast, bed linen and towels, so in comparison with other hostels are conditions amazing.

Disliked: Nothing.

Liked: The free breakfast was amazing. Different kinds of slice meat, cheese, cereal, yoghurt, bread, coffee, tea- definitely worth the price of the hostel. The rooms were very clean and so was our bathroom. The rooms were very warm which was good for winter. The reception people were friendly Overall a great hostel, in a good location with great breakfast!

Disliked: The heating was too hot during the night. There are no kitchen facilities. The staff were great but a bit clueless when we asked where certain things were, eg: kebab shop open 24 hrs, italian restaurant, quickest way to get to alexander platz.

Liked: First of all, hostels location was really good, 5 minutes walk to historical places. Second I have to say our room was very big and had a beautiful view of Potsdamer Platz's skyscraper's view. It was a luck of us. Room was clean, i guess; and anyway it worths the money

Disliked: I didn't like staffs but after all it was not a big problem

Liked: Good location, excellent breakfast, 24hr reception. Rooms were comfy and spacious!

Disliked: They advertised free wifi but ended up costing money!

Liked: The breakfast was really good. They had a great variety of all-you-can-eat food. Also, on New Year's Day they extended the breakfast time so everyone could sleep in. The hostel was clean and in a great location - within walking distance of the Brandenburg gate NYE party.

Disliked: The rooms were ridiculously hot all the time. Also, the bar was a bit rubbishy and if you didn't have good room mates, it would've have been pretty difficult to meet people because it's such a big place.
