The Heart of Gold is the Starship under the Berlin hostel umbrella. It looks a bit like a spaceship but in fact it is - mostly harmless. It is the most centrally located Hostel in between sights and nightlife and is inspired by "The Hitchhikers Guide to The Galaxy" by Douglas Adams.

The Heart of Gold Hostel Berlin is the Starship of the Berlin Hostels. We got off the ground in 2003 and met a lot of new friends on our trip through the galaxies since then.

It is a unique state-of-the-art hostel that looks a bit like the spaceship, but then again it isn't - really and is mostly harmless. So - don't panic!

Facilties include:

- A bar with Chesterfield sofa in a relaxed atmosphere

- Large reception area with panorama windows
- Free secure luggage room with lockers

- Washing machines and dryer

Services include a 24 hr reception desk, snacks and drinks at the bar and a breakfast buffet served daily between 8 am and 12 pm.

Other facilities include a washer & dryer. There is no curfew and we offer free guided tours and maps and information.

There is free Wi-Fi internet access throughout the accommodation and our staff are friendly and helpful staff

We also have a yard and garden where you can hang out when the weather is suitable.

Accommodation Information

All the rooms are painted by different artists and feature tables, chairs, reading lamp, lockers, mirror and panorama window.

We offer a number of different room types including singles and twins with shower and washbasin, 3-8 bed dorms with shared facilities and luxury apartments for up to 10 people.

In the dorm rooms you'll find bunk beds and normal beds, each with a reading light. There is one locker per person where you can lock your stuff using a ped-lock, which is available for 5 € deposit, which you get back on check-out.

The apartments are about 100 - 150 m² and feature 2-3 rooms- some with a balcony- and 2 bathrooms with shower and tub. One apartment has a kitchen and small terrace.

Sheets are included, but we charge a 5 € deposit which you also get back on checkout.
