Good location. Could walk north to the major sites or take a cheap subway ticket. Could also walk south to some cool punk bars.

Rooms are very comfortable, with great facilities (nice powerful showers), and staff were very nice and helpful.

The staff was extremely friendly. The hostel was not as far away from the sights of Berlin as I expected it to be. My only real complaint is that the hostel is located directly beside railroad tracks. No air conditioning, so the window had to be left open at night, and the frequent trains passing by made it very difficult for me to sleep, all night long.

Friendly staff, good breakfast, clean rooms/bathrooms, everything was great! About a 10-15 minute walk from the touristy area, but it really wasn't a problem at all. I HIGHLY recommend this hostel. Best deal you could get :)

I really enjoyed what you get for your money. I payed a little more for a single room and felt as if I was staying in a 3 star hotel!! It was nice and in a good location with easy access to the s trains and the middle of the city!!

Great value for money!!! Good breakfast, staff were nice. Location was close to two train stations and 15-20 minute walk to city centre.

The staff were really helpful, the lady at the reception sorted out a problem we had with our next hostel - another Meininger Hostel - very quickly and she also recommended a place to eat and a free tour which was brilliant. The room and bathroom were very clean. Location-wise, it is very near 2 u-bahn stations - most days we walked into the centre though which took about 30 minutes. We didn't find it that sociable but this may be because we had 2 very quiet roomates, and the bar is a good place to try and meet other travellers if that's what you want.

I would have expected to pay twice as much for the excellent room I stayed in. In our extremely clean triple, we had a pretty-good-sized, in-room bathroom, huge windows, and even a nice leather couch for watching the cable TV. The free breakfast was pretty good -- typical European (rolls, sandwich meats and cheeses, Nutella and honey spreads, juice, cereal) and best of all, free, and the hostel offered take-away packed lunches (for a small fee) as a cheaper alternative to eating out in a downtown restaurant. The staff was friendly, helpful, and fluent in English, and it was quite close to both a metro stop and a stop for the bus to the train station. The only down side is that they charge for Internet usage.
