Liked: First off, you will not find a friendlier or more helpful staff ANYWHERE. They were totally amazing, especially when the general strike hit and pretty much all h*ll broke loose and lots of hostellers had their travel plans shot out from under them, us among them. Especially Sebastian and Alex, I hope you guys win the lottery and that nothing but good news comes your way, because you were AMAZING. They were professional, friendly, helpful and patient with so going on. Sebastian helped me chop through the jungle of a car rental problem late at night and was the soul of consideration and Alex gave us all the information she could about how to navigate the train stations and companies to give us the best chance of getting out of town. We needed to book an extra night and it was available, which was a relief. Other than that, they were just generally awesome about things like helping with computers, etc, very friendly and super professional. Fantastic job, they absolutely made our trip to Paris a hundred percent better on top of what was already a great vacation (minus the strike, which they made easier on us as well.) The property was one block from the subway stop and around the corner from a grocery store. It was close to Sacre Coeur and plenty of neighborhood activity generally. The neighborhood was safe as far as our experience went. The room was a 6-person mixed dorm with ensuite bath and was clean, and roomier than I am used to seeing. The bathroom and shower were very clean and the water pressure and temperature was good, plumbing was fine. The hostel provides linens as part of the room fee and rents towels for a small fee (I think 1 euro.) The windows allowed lots of air and light in.The breakfast room was in the basement of the property which sounds weird but was really cool because of the rugged stone walls - standard continental breakfast of coffee, juice, cereal, and bread/croissant with butter and jelly. The common room had wifi and other amusements -- foosball table and a computer station with several machines -- a couple of vending machines and a kitchen with a fairly big dining area, fridge and basic cooking equipment, which got used every night we were there by hostellers cooking and getting acquainted. The vibe was super great with lots of chances to meet and talk with new friends -- we met a lot of really fun and interesting people during our stay. It was pretty easy to get a party going.The age range was pretty solidly people in their 20s -- there were a few people outside that age range but not many and no kids as far as I could see.

Disliked: The bunk bed I was in was very shaky but the maintenance man repaired it within an hour when I mentioned it. And I really wished the upper bunks had ladders -- climbing into them is a dodgy experience, but I managed. Beds are pretty squeaky but comfortable enough. Actually that is the only con. The room I stayed in came in for a lot of noise since it was near the common area but I always travel with a sleep mask and ear plugs so it was fine. The Wifi worked in the common room but not really in our dorm, so if we wanted wifi we had to go downstairs. It's not exactly in the heart of Paris, which was fine with me, but if you want to be within walking distance of the city's main attractions this probably would not be a good choice. With a Metro stop so close it didn't show up as a problem for me.

Liked: Nice neighborhood. Close to subway.

Disliked: The room was dirty and the bath/shower facilities were even worse. I could smell the toilet all over the hallway and also in my room. The walls and the ceiling of the shower were covered with mold. It was disgusting.

Liked: At least it was not as ridiculously priced as most of the other hostels.

Disliked: The hostel is in a cool area but not near any of the major sites. The bathroom was ridiculously small making it very difficult to shower.

Liked: The staff were really helpful and easy going. Its a good location too, close to Moulin Rouge and the metro. Loads of cafes and shops in the area aswell

Disliked: The kitchen was terrible and it was all a bit run down and gritty

Disliked: Showers were awful,It was like being high pressure cleaned in a match box. and its 5 flights of stairs to the private rooms, narrow stair case too, dont recommend it for the older customer.

Liked: stay here if you want to meet lots of backpakers i had a lots of fun with them this hostel is prefect for who wants to sleep early or have party thanks the unselfish stuff

Liked: Good atmosphere and having a kitchen was a plus! The staff were helpful when I had to check out very early in the morning

Disliked: Breakfast is included which is great but the kitchen lady accuses people of stealing croissants willy nilly and the milk was far from cold and was actually a bit warm which was gross

Liked: This a great hostel and has a really good atmosphere. There's a great place to meet people downstairs and the staff are very friendly.

Liked: The staff is realy friend and willing to help with all your questions. Almost all of them speak good english. They even let me store my bike in the lobby area. The location is a bit far out but it is good to reach with the metro (sacre ceure.. just 10 min walk) I felt safe..

Disliked: The wifi internet is only available in the lobby. The kitchen doesn't have a lot of utillities... wich made it hard to cook. It's very noisy... I could even hear people talking to floors down! There is a primary school behind the hostel.. so there is no sleeping in.. outside of the summer season!

Liked: Our rooms was really nice. We stayed in an ensuite 4 bed dorm and it looks really classy, it was apparently just renovated, so that was a plus point. And it was really clean as well. There's a hair dryer in the bathroom!! The desks and chairs in the room was a nice touch too. The lobby is very comfy, with sofas and tables and chairs and they have a foosball table! The kitchen has a microwave, stove and etc which is very convenient too. They also have a vending machine for conveniences, although expensive. Not to mention, the breakfast is fanstastic i think, although they are pretty strict about the amount you take...

Disliked: It was pretty far away from the city centre and therefore, most of the attractions, although it is conveniently situated near a metro station, it is still some distance away. Oh, it was really warm in Paris, so we left the windows open at night usually and people passing by are really loud and noisy.

Liked: Great hostel only 5 minutes metro from the city. Comfortable beds, excellent cooking facilities and the friendliest staff ever! The staff also helped book some tours for us by making like 4 calls off there own back. Highly recommended!!

Disliked: The showers were a little damp but other then that it was awesome!

Liked: Not a bad place to meet others. Fairly clean. Free breakfast that was good.

Disliked: Expensive compared to other hostels in Paris, the price I was quoted was lower than the actual bill for two of the nights. Staff could be a bit rude and unhelpful, and often were backed up with work. They didn't clean the bed of the girl who left the day I arrived assuming she was still there and instead kept taking my linen assuming I'd left which forced me to keep working out the situation with the staff and other guests since they wouldn't resolve it and in the end the problem was still never solved.
