Liked: It was clean and in a good location - Easy walking distance to the Sacre-Coeur Basilica and the Lamack Metro station. We were able to check in early at 7am when we weren't expecting to be able to until about 2pm. Since we'd arrived by overnight bus it was so good to be able to relax for a couple of hours first before getting out to explore.

Disliked: Apart from the man on Night reception the staff were a little unhelpful and abrupt. The soundproofing between rooms was good but the doors didn't seem soundproofed at all so anything out in the hall or doors opening and closing could be quite disruptive.

Liked: The breakfast was good although the coffee was less than desirerable and the property was near the metro station which was great. And internet when it was working was free too which was nice.

Disliked: The place was filthy, I found crumbs and a dead bug on my bed. The dorm room, washroom and shower room were all very small and I agree there was no ladder to climb to the top bunk.

Liked: The place is sort of pretty. The location is great, very near Sacre Coeur, lovely area. Breakfast is undoubtedly the best.

Disliked: The staff wasn't all that helpful. The place was rather dirty, specially the bedrooms and the toilettes, which weren't cleaned very often. The computers worked really badly. Wifi worked perfectly, but you had to ask for a user and password every time you wanted to use it, and they were only valid for an hour or two. The kitchen facilities were rather poor. The shower inside the bedroom could have been a good idea, if it wasn't ridiculously small and uncomfortable. There weren't nearly enough plugs!! There were none inside the bedrooms, and only two in the common area.

Liked: Breakfast was generous (although standard hostel fare), location was ok as it was close to the metro and the metro can get you anywhere. The free internet was excellent and the bathrooms were clean and the staff friendly.

Disliked: I disliked the bunk beds - they seemed somewhat flimsy and there were no ladders to the top bunk so you had to kind of swing yourself up gracefully.

Liked: The free breakfast was fantastic - real orange juice, tasty granola, croissants, real coffee, real jam (the first ingredient was strawberries!).

Disliked: They gave you a bottom sheet, but if you had to pay for a top sheet if you wanted one. Our room felt unclean and kind of dingy. Curfew lockout at 2am. The only bathroom on our floor ran out of toilet paper and they didn't replace it until the next day. The refrigerator was tiny.

Liked: Price for stay, breakfast was tasty and fresh. The room was clean.

Disliked: The wifi. It works very unstable even near the router, and the staff did nothing to fix this.

Liked: Paisley papered wallpaper, vintage leather couches, spiral staircases and windows that open up to gardens and cobble stone streets. This hostel/hotel had a friendly staff, free internet/computer use, a great GREAT free breakfast, comfortable and clean rooms and spaces - we actually stayed in a 4 bed with it's own bathroom - and the location boasts a beautiful view, is a 12 minute walk from the Moulin Rouge, 7 minute walk from Sacre Coeur, 3 minute walk from the metro, and has bakeries, convenience stores, and affordable restaurants on all the surrounding streets. LOVED this place! Felt like home away from home.

Disliked: No lockers or security room to leave baggage/valuables behind. You can leave them in your (shared) room or in the general common room - that said, the environment/area seemed very safe and we did feel comfortable leaving our belongings.

Liked: Friendly reception, good breakfast, cosy atmosphere, safe and most importantly the experience living in a French residential area

Disliked: Pretty far from town, and the *curfew*! but it's a trade-off... I'd rather spend a little time travelling, enjoy the safety of staying here.

Disliked: The 2am curfew was a bit disapointing as well as the lockout during the day. Additionally the staff were not very friendly or helpful.

Liked: I loved the location.

Disliked: Dirty. My bathroom was filthy the whole time I was there, despite requests that it be cleaned. My sheets were soiled! The internet connection was slow and the receptionists were aweful and did not care and even mocked me. I have stayed out hostels all across Europe and this has to be the worst I have ever stayed at.

Liked: Free internet, reasonably priced, very willing to help us out when our plans changed unexpectedly at the last minute. Also, fantastic free breakfast.

Disliked: Nothing, really. It wasn't quite at the heart of the city, but all of the attractions were an easy metro ride away, and the hostel is located very near a metro station.

Disliked: The room is not very clean and it is small too! The breakfeast is free but it is bread and one croissant! And the staff is not very friendly!!!

Liked: This hostel is extremly well placed. Once you've found it, via the long stair ascent at Square Caulaincourt, the hostel is in a beautiful area of Paris, at the back of the Sacre Coeur and Montmatre. Hostel is very wel kept, nicely decorated and clean. Free computers and internet.

Disliked: Although 'ensuite', the roo; space is small and the showers are adequate but very cramped. The toilets are in the main hall way - no sink provided and no soap in the room. I found this rather unhygeinic.

Liked: Excellent location, staff were friendly. Breakfast was good.

Disliked: Crowded common area, noisy. Our bathroom wasn't cleaned in the 3 days we were there, toilet paper wasn't replaced. Cramped room, uncomfortable mattress.

Liked: Very good atmosphere, helpful staff.

Disliked: A bit far from the centre, but the metropolitan was only 5 minutes walk.

Liked: Friendly and accommodating staff.

Disliked: Only one complaint: After the women in my room had gone to sleep (in an all-female dorm), a male staff member came in without knocking and started looking for a blanket. He didn't identify himself or tell us what he needed. It was very strange. Other than that it was a great experience.
