Liked: Quite new, with card-locked rooms and a small ensuite female dorm. Breakfast and wifi (or 30' internet) included.

Disliked: Close to Montmartre but a little too far from the city centre. Lock-out at 2am (!).

Liked: Very nice place to stay! And having free internet was veryy nice.

Disliked: Loud people congregated on the street outside our room at late hours of the night.. Although this isn't the hostel's fault..

Liked: It was very close to a metro and even though we had to share a toilet, there was a shower in our room to ourselves. Breakfast included was nice as well.

Disliked: Our room was a littly tiny for four people so moving around was kind of hard.

Liked: Great Location and close to metro station as well, rooms were clean and people in room were friendly

Disliked: It didnt really have a lounge area to relax in just a small couch, but they do have a massive breakfast room which I think could be put to more use

Liked: The location is great and there are nice bakeries and cafés near the hostel. It's also close to a metro station. At least one person of the staff spoke perfect English, though it took him almost 30 minutes to check us in, because he was so high.

Disliked: The pictures are misleading, my room (dorm room of 6 people) was nothing like the pictures suggest it might be. They only have pictures of the 2-person rooms. I also had a bit of trouble finding the hostel at first. The showers aren't hot 24h and they don't work well. The pressure is mostly really poor, but sometimes it would work better. The bathroom didn't really feel clean. Also, the hostel doesn't really offer 'complete' bed linen for free: they have one bed linen on the matress, a pillowcase and then an old blanket with no linen to put on it. I felt this wasn't really hygienic, so I ended up using my own sleeping bag, which I happened to have with me. The bunk beds didn't have a ladder or anything, so I had to climb and 'jump' up. Luckily the person sleeping in the bed below me was my friend, so she didn't mind me standing on her bed when I was trying to get on my own. This was definitely the worst hostel out of three, that I have booked through hostelbookers, but still it wasn't a complete disaster. It was ok for the three nights I stayed in Paris, but I wouldn't go there again.

Liked: Nice cosy communal area and kitchen, easy to meet fellow travelers. Rooms not too cramped either.

Disliked: Occasionally grumpy staff, otherwise fine

Liked: Montmartre is an amazing location - everything you need in the surrounding area, shops, restaurants, bars etc, but also is 15 mins on metro to centre of Paris. our room was perfectly adequate - cleaned every day, just enough space to move around, with a shower and toilet ensuite. the kitchen IS small, but we just ate out so it wasn't a problem. Free breakfast is very nice. Staff are good to deal with, we checked in very late at night and checked out early in the morning, and there was always someone on the reception. Curfew wasn't a problem, metros stop around 1 or 2am anyway. If we go to Paris again we will be staying here, we wanted to do it on the cheap and you get what you pay for! If you can't handle a student hostel pay for a hotel!!!

Disliked: the stairs - annoying with big suitcases, but not too bad. I think your experience of Caulaincourt definitely depends on which room you get, some are quite clean whereas others are older and dirtier or more cramped. Overall, no problems though and I would recommend staying here!!!

Liked: Guy on reception (who is a painter) very helpful and friendly, also spoke English.

Disliked: Budget hotel so a bit "shabby" but nonetheless good value as breakfast is also included in price.

Liked: Colorful, cheery atmosphere, great wallpaper in the room I stayed in.

Liked: I liked the area the hostel was in. The staff was very nice and helpful.

Disliked: The directions on how to get there were confusing and hard to follow. It has a curfew.

Liked: The location. Close to the metro and the main sites. Montmarte is a good place to stay and the hostel is far enough from the main drags so you dont hear the noise.

Disliked: The way a private double is advertised. You expect also your own toilet, which is NOT included in the room. There were not enough toilets. One toilet on the downstairs level which was always dirty.

Liked: Heating in the bed rooms worked well. Close to a metro station and shops

Disliked: the kitchen was tiny, and smelt. The equipement in the kitchen was not adequate

Liked: Convenient location, a handful of good restaurants nearby, also a close supermarket and subway station. Very clean rooms and bathrooms for a good price.

Disliked: The internet connection is rather unreliable and sometimes slow, the staff is not as prompt as expected and not always very friendly.

Liked: There are several characters working there that don't want anyone to have any fun. I mean whats wrong with chatting over a few wines on the foyer floor, dancing on the street or starting a gathering of 15 people in a single room after 2am? I guess no common area means issues..

Disliked: Rooms are too tight, kithcen too under equipped and 2am curfew.

Liked: Good location in Paris, close to Sacre Cuer. Close to Metro stop and handly to shops. Free Internet and good basic free breakfast.

Disliked: NOT clean. Don't know how often they clean the rooms/bathrooms but not done in the 3 days I was there. Really small 6-bed dorm rooms, one of the smallest I have seen.

Liked: Located in a beautiful part of Montmarte, very close to Sacre Coeur. Staff was generally friendly, although the one guy who checked us in might have been on drugs and thus was not very helpful. Free internet access on computers and an amazing free breakfast. It's just as well decorated as in the pictures, beds were comfy, bathrooms were clean.

Disliked: Computers are extremely old and slow - bring your own if you need it for much more than e-mail and facebook. However, there were no lockers available on the premise. We didn't have any problems just leaving our bags (without valuables) in the lobby, but just an fyi.

Disliked: Kitchen was really dirty (I wouldn't put anything in the fridge) and nothing to really make you a dinner. Also free Internet cool, but the computer are so old there is not USB port to recharge a Ipod.

Liked: EVERYTHING IS SUPREME IF YOU ARE ATTENDED BUY THE RECEPCIONIST THAT SPEAKS MORE ENGLISH THAN THE OTHER ONE. THE ENGLISH RECEPCIONIST ALLWAYS SOLVES EVERYTHING/ THE OTHER DOES NOT DO IT

Liked: Staff was really friendly. In a convenient location close to metro and is in the great neighborhood of Montmartre. The free breakfast was really good! Free wi-fi.

Disliked: The bathroom in our room smelled like it had a bad mold problem.
