Liked: Got free crepes on one night! Approx 20 minute walk to Eiffel Tower. Close to metro, bright cheerful decor.
Disliked: The receptionist that greeted me was particularly rude, abrupt and unhelpful. However, other receptionists seemed to be very nice. While there are 5 computers, they put viruses on my USB drive and corrupted it, and the Internet didn't work very well. No lockers in the rooms.

Liked: We paid for a 10 bed dorm, but were actually put in a 4 bed room. The hostel was in a good location, within walking distance of the Eiffel Tower and close to metro lines.
Disliked: There was one toilet and one shower on each floor which could often become dirty due to frequency of use. The shower was also quite small and dark and there were no hooks, so it was hard to prevent your clothes from getting wet. The staff were also generally not very helpful or friendly and the second night we stayed, the internet was only working on one computer which meant a long wait to use it. The main problem with Aloha was the noise. Noise travelled very easily, even people just walking up and down the stairs and going into their rooms. Unfortunately there was a school trip staying at the same time as us, so it was incredibly loud. Although we had read reviews which said the same thing, we didn't realise how much of a problem this would be, especially when you have to be up early for breakfast and lockout.

Liked: Free internet - wireless and several computers available at the reception area. Well localized, next to supermarkets, restaurants, coffes and metro station. You can also reach the Eiffel Tower by walking if you want, although it is not so closed as it seems...
Disliked: Dirty and cramped - it seems that every small area in the builting became a badroom! They clean the builting once a day, but at night the bathrooms is a mass. The shower area is a joke. Very crampped and with no control of water temperature (there is no shower, sic!). We got 2 beds in a bedroom for 10 people - it was awfull, very cramped and noisy during the night (the beds are very very noisy!!!). Some members of the staffs was not friendly also...

Liked: Its a very simple hostel and the staff is very friendly and eager to help.
Disliked: We specially disliked the cleanliness and look of the building in general. The beds and room are clean but the place itself looks old and outdated for the moneys worth. Also the rules are very strict and we did not like thatwe could not go into our rooms from 11am to 5pm... Especially whrn we just arrived and were very tired from travel.

Liked: Didnt notice anything bad hinted at by other reviews, very nice in comparison to what the reviews built it up to be. Brilliant location, saw most of paris without needing the metro!
Disliked: Number of showers and toilets to guests isn't high enough, but in all fairness this wasn't a problem for any of us, even though we were a party of 7!

Liked: Location ONLY!! oh and free wifi
Disliked: Everything but the location. it was my first time to stay in a hostel, and I can assure you this was also my last time to stay at a hostel. It was dirty...everything was dirty. beds, sink, bathroom, floors, and shower. we had to leave the room from 1100-1600hrs for "clean up time" which i'm sure no cleaning was done! you had to rent sheets and towels... we were there for 3 days.. and every morning my friend woke up with different bite marks on her legs and back.

Liked: Very close to the metro, 15 minute walk from the eiffel tower. Breakfast was good if you could wake up early enough. I realize 9am isn't that early but when you're on vacation in Paris it is.
Disliked: This is a long list so bear with me. We arrived at about 9 in the morning and were greeted by one of the extremely unhelpful and rude staff members and were then told that we could not enter our room until 4 pm, despite lockout not starting until 11. Breakfast also conveniently ended at 9 so we couldn't do that either. The rooms here are absolutely terrible. We stayed in a 6 person dorm which was only accessible by going through another dorm. The windows didn't open so and the cleaning staff made no attempt to air it out so it was unbearably stuffy. Also, I don't know what the cleaning staff does during the 5 hour lockout but it certainly isn't cleaning. Showers (which were about the size of a broom closet) were filthy, hair and dirt everywhere, and there were only 2 or 3 for the whole place, servicing between 30 and 40 people. It gets worse. They don't allow you to bring in outside alcohol yet they only sell canned beer for 2.50 euro a pop, and due to the ridiculous lockout there is nowhere to simply sit and relax in the middle of the day due to a complete lack of any sort of usable furniture (the best option was a moldy wicker couch with no cushions which had been left in the rain during their "renovations"). On our last night there they even tried to kick us out when, in fact, they had overbooked our room (seems to be a common occurrence, so if you arrive and end up sleeping on the floor don't be surprised as this actually happened to one of our roommates). Had the staff been helpful and friendly from the beginning we might have been more forgiving but they all acted as though we were simply annoyances and did everything possible just to get us out of their hair. As someone else previously mentioned, they act as if hostels are not part of the service industry. My friend and I both work in a restaurant and the way the staff treats the guests is ridiculous, we would be fired on the spot for treating customers like that. Overall a terrible experience, really gave my friend and I a negative view of Paris in general which is a shame because I'm sure we would have had a much better time had we stayed pretty much anywhere else (i.e. a park bench, train station, literally anywhere). Do not stay here.

Liked: Nothing
Disliked: I did not enjoy my stay at this hostel. Reception staff are generally friendly and helpful however, cleaning staff are horrible. You are not allowed to be in your room between 11am and 5pm due to cleaning. At 11:05 they wake you up and kick you out of the rooms. Breakfast horrible and only very early in the morning. Cleaning staff tried to steal my property, i caught the guy trying to leave the room with my stuff. Internet only in the lobby. Location not great, Eiffel tower 15 min walk, nothing else near the hostel. Half hour metro ride to major attractions. Drinking is permitted only in the common area, which has very limited space and you must buy your alcohol from the hostel. One night upon returning to the hostel guy at the reception didn't want to let us in to the hostel and was threatening to call the police. He still did not believe we were actually staying at the hostel even after presenting our key-cards and opening the door to our room and was trying to kick us out.

Liked: The location and the price for the location are probably the greatest things about Aloha - near to city center (walk distance) and Eiffel Tower, bus stops and metro stations close, plus quite many tiny supermarkets and asian take aways. So it´s perfect when you just need a roof for a couple of nights. Also, the stuff was very nice, unlimited internet access is really great and the free city maps too :-)
Disliked: Well, if you´re looking for something hyper comfortable and clean-clean then this is not a place for you. The beds are tiny and the bunk beds so low that i couldn´t even sit on my bed. The shower was probably the worst part of it as the floors were yucky and the water so hot I burned myself while showering. But considering the price I think it´s rather fair.

Liked: Location wise it was good and fairly cheap too. Wifi available for free and computers for use too.
Disliked: Rooms were not well layed out. No power sockets in the rooms either. Small stairs going up to the 3rd floor got very tiring. Breakfast was over at 9am which after a late night is hard getting up to in time and the breakfast wasn't very nice. Coffee was disgusting too. Off since it is France and all. There were also going a lot of renovation of the place too. This really should have been done in the off season. It caused a lot of noise throughout the place and meant there wasn't anywhere to sit in the main area. Also, for wifi was free but you had to get a ticket everytime and it was a different username and password each time and the time varied on the tickets from 30 minutes to 30 hours. Why?The showers were small and horrible too and the rooms were messy. We also couldn't stay in our rooms from 11am to 4pm which is odd since you have paid for the room and should be able to come and go as you please.
