Liked: Fantastic place to meet people, all the staff were good and the bar had a great atmosphere - right next to a metro and good cafes, very close to gare du nord...amazing hostel, I'll definitely stay there again.

Liked: This hostel was affordable and had a good bar with a decent happy-hour. Met some great people here and had a blast. If you are looking for a social scene I guess this is your hostel. But if you are looking for a good nights sleep (on nights your aren't passing out and really want to sleep) choose another spot. The loud music goes till 2 am and staying on floor 1 it was loud. And not the hostels fault but unfortunately a fire station was just built nearby so sirens were CONSTANT. NO exaggeration at least 1 truck would go by at least every half hour. So sleeping was very tough. But it was clean and the way the key system works is neat. My shower handle was broken but we made it work and having a great HOT shower was awesome and you at least didn't have to hit a button every 30 seconds like in other hostels. And you have a little balcony. A lot of cheap food nearby which in Paris is very important to find on a backpacker's budget and Jaures Metro station right around the corner. Over-all I would not stay again because of the sirens but besides that very good hostel for the price.

Liked: Great staff and an awesome place to meet fun people. I was lucky to have bathroom in my room, but it was so small I could almost brush my teeth, poop, and shower at the same time... once I made it through the shower "slot." The room was pretty small, too. Otherwise, a highly recommended place to stay, especially considering the price.

Liked: Good price, very near the Jaures station but that's like 20+ mins from the main Paris attractions. But it's true there are lots of cheap eats nearby. However, come here if you don't mind stairs! There were so many winding stairs going up and down with your backpack is horrible. It is definitely a firetrap and the security is sketchy because the bar IS the reception and when the bartender starts drinking, anyone could've probably asked for any key and gone into any room. In conclusion, sketchy but ok for a hostel. Good for maybe just 1-2 nights....more than that will give you a headache.

Liked: Great atmosphere and a great way to meet fellow travellers. Location isn't too bad being only a short metro ride away from everywhere you're likely to go. It does sit down the road from a firestation so expect a lot of sirens but other than that it's not a bad place at all!

Liked: i was travelling on my own but i felt pretty comfortable staying here. the staff are nice, the bar good, the location was pretty great, and the rooms small, but decent enough. it's definitely a great place to meet other travellers. i would probably come back here just because the staff are great and do what they can to make your stay enjoyable

Liked: I loved the staff and the atmosphere of the hostel. The staff was so helpful and fun to just hang with. They answered almost any question you had. They were more like friends than just people who ran a hostel which made it so much more relaxing. The location was relatively safe too, which made it more comforting.

Liked: If you want to really enjoy the night life in Paris go to this hostel. The staff are amazing and will tell you about some excellent spots. You might not wanna leave the hostel bar though - you have some amazing craic there!! The rooms are grand as well and you can always look at the stairs as practise for the Eiffel Tower. Amazing!!

Liked: The hostel staff in the daytime were very friendly and helpful, and the walking tour is extremely fun and interesting. In the night time, the pub transforms into a mega-party place and the bartenders (who double up as receptionists) are always a tad unhappy when they find out you need your room key and not a drink from them.

Liked: A short walk along the canal from Paris Est (also walkable from Paris Nord). Lots of cheap places to eat in the vicinity. Open access luggage room, 24 hour reception. Shower/WC in bedroom & extra toilet on landing.Minuses - no table in kitchen, no food in rooms, no women only rooms, luggage room not locked, firetrap

Liked: Definately a great place to meet other travelers! The only downside was the distance from the Seine, but the metro stop just outside the door made up for that
